“I’m glad you’re here,” I add, changing the subject. “I have something to give you.”

Her eyes widen. “What is it?”

Intertwining our fingers, I bring her hand to my mouth and brush my lips against it. She shivers at my touch, and my inner Alpha roars.

Mine.

After letting go of her hand, I walk to my desk and open a drawer. I remove the items and return to the couch.

First, I place the new laptop in her lap, and she gasps.

“It’s registered to me, and the webcam is disabled. It’s permanently unlocked, so you can use it anytime you want. And you’re always welcome in here.”

“Brock,” she breathes, opening the computer. “This is the newest model.”

I shrug. “Yeah. And I knew you’d appreciate it. Dylan and Killian could not care less.”

She giggles.

She fuckinggiggles, and I’m done for.

“Fuck, you better be careful. I’ll start hacking into all your stuff,” she jokes. “Me and a computer and unlimited time? I can cause a lot of trouble.”

“Well, you’re always welcome in my office,” I say, trying to keep the hope out of my voice.

“Alpha, I love it,” she breathes. “I’m so glad you understand me.”

I freeze, in shock at how she addressed me.

She called meAlpha, as if it’s the thousandth time we’ve done this.

As if she belongs to me, and I to her.

“There’s more,” I add, holding up the old cell phone.

Her smile fades a bit as she tilts her head, confused. “I can’t—”

“I know you can’t call your parents’ home or cell phone,” I add. “But what if I could get you access to a private line? For just a moment?”

She looks shocked. “How? Wouldn’t that be too dangerous?”

“I think I have a way,” I add. “Olive, I think we may be able to contact your mother.”
