I read the headline, and my mouth falls open. “No…fucking…way.”
“Yes!” She cries, her pouty lips turned into a dazzling grin. She punches the air and stomps her feet. “Yes!Yes!”
Every other country that had started an Omega program likeEdencame together and just made an official statement.
They are ending the programs in their entirety, based on what they’ve seen in the United States.
They’re calling on the US to do the same.
“Oh, my God,” I breathe.
“This is fucking incredible,” Hannah says, her voice breaking. “This is happening quicker than I thought it would.”
Tears of disbelief fill my eyes.
The protests, the voice of the people, fighting for the Omegas...
It’s working.
“What does this mean?” Dylan asks slowly, his brow furrowed. “They’re not ending them.”
“Right, but worldwide pressure has alotof influence,” Hannah says, clapping her hands. “Fuck yes.Fuck yes.”
We’re not out of the nightmare. We’re still in a twisted world, where an entire group of people were pleasure property, meant to service Alphas.
That mindset is still there for some people.
But the good outshines the bad.
Kindness outweighs the cruelty, and the hope in my soul shines brightly.
A thousand questions remain, ones I don’t have the answers to just yet.
Trauma fromEdenwill haunt every Omega, but the world is finally on our side.
Maybe, just maybe, everything will turn out alright.
There’s still a lot left to fight for, but I’m willing to do what I can.
I glance at Killian, who shoots me a wink, then mouths “I love you.”
I smile back at him, and the bond between all of us hums in satisfaction.
The smile doesn’t leave my face.
We’re all going to get through this.
My life is heading back into the right direction.
