“Call the police, and they’ll have to drag her from my fucking hands,” Killian growls.

We all freeze, including the Omega.

The insinuation is clear.

We’ve seen what happens when someone tries to hide an Omega.

The government has no problem using deadly force against Alphas and Betas.

Money talks, and Omegas are fucking priceless.

Brock stares down at Killian, his nostrils flaring in anger. “This is insane. You know what can happen if she stays here,” he growls.

“I don’t have to stay here,” her voice pipes up, looking at Brock, swaying on her injured foot. “You can forget you ever saw me,” she says simply.

“Not a chance,” I blurt out, and now it’s Brock’s turn to look at me, bewildered.

“Really?” He snaps. “Fuckingreally?”

At that moment, I see the guilt that eats him alive every day.

And now that I’m siding with Killian, I see the betrayal as well.

I shake my head slowly.

“They’ll drug me,” she whispers, her voice etched with pain. “They’ll drug me, take me off my suppressants, and use me.”

Brock looks at her, his chest heaving.

She spills the truth that we already know, shining a light on the ugly details that the media has reported.

“They’ll keep me locked in that hotel, youknowthat,” she insists, gripping Killian’s arm for balance. Her eyes shine brightly, willing Brock to understand. “They’ll keep me well-fed, well-dressed, and doped out of my mind when they force me into Heats—”

CRUNCH.

The plaster next to Brock explodes, his fist ruining the wall, and the Omega jumps at his sudden outburst.

“Take care of her, then,” he spits, leaving us in stunned silence.

Killian and I stare at him as particles of white plaster fall to the floor. “She’syourfucking responsibility now,” he growls, before turning and leaving the front room.

The Omega’s sour fear stains the air, along with the stench of her blood. She watches with a worried expression as Brock saunters off, her mouth parted.

“Well,” Killian comments. “That went better than expected.”

“Hey, Killian?” The Omega says, her voice small.

“Yeah, beautiful?” Killian murmurs as I take a step closer to them.

“I think I’m going to fall.”

Her ankle twists and she collapses.
