And for a moment, I think my brother has truly lost it.

“I sold the app.”

Killian and I stare at him, confused.

“What app?”

“The social networking one for Omegas,” he says hurriedly. “I sold it.”

“Wait. You were buildingwhat?” Killian asks. “A social networking app? You?”

He waves his hands. “Yes, shut up, that’s not the point. I sold it toEden. I fucking sold it to them.”

He’s more animated than he’s been in years, and I’m genuinely concerned for my brother.

“Okay? What does this mean?” I ask slowly.

“It means I have an in,” he says, his eyes wide. “They’re letting me intoEden.”

I stop breathing.

“Holy shit,” Killian whispers. “Holyshit.”

It’s not a plan, but it’s the start of one.

“When do you go?” I ask in disbelief.

“They offered me admission on Saturday,” he says.

Saturday.

“You can at least see her,” I say, jealousy coursing through me.

His expression turns stoic. “Yeah,” he mutters. “Yeah, I know. And find Hannah, too.”

“But then what?” Killian asks. “What’s the plan once you find them?”

“I don’t fucking know,” he mutters. “We need to brainstorm.” His gaze lands on my pile of onions, and he makes a face. “What the fuck? Do you have enough onions?”

I scowl. “You’re lucky I don’t cook you an Amanita mushroom soup, asshole.”

“What the hell is that?”

“It’s a mushroom that tastes fucking delicious but kills you if you eat it,” I scoff. “One thing I accidentally learned at culinary school. Foragers confuse it with edible mushrooms, then die.”

The room falls silent, and Brock turns to me, curious.

“Tell me more,” he murmurs.

I see the cogs turning in his mind, and I’ve never been happier that my brother is a goddamn genius.
