CHAPTER 35

KILLIAN

I could smellher anger from across the house, the spiciness mixed with the soured aroma of her despair.

I knew something had happened with Brock by the way he walked to the dining room, looking stricken.

But I never expectedthis.

“Where did you get that?” Dylan asks softly, his eyes flicking to mine in panic.

“Who is she?”

“Baby, you need to keep your voice down—” I try, but she isn’t having it. She turns to me, her face contorted in fury.

“Fuckyou! Is this the same Hannah on the news? Is thisher?”

Brocktrembles. “Olive—”

“Don’t you fucking lie to me, Brock.” Her voice breaks, and she points at Hannah’s face in the photo. “Is this her? The girl from the leaked video fromEden?” She turns to me, and I nod.

“Yes.”

Her eyes fill with tears and she takes a step back from the dining room in horror. “How do you know her?” She demands.

Brock clears his throat and I turn to him. “She’s our cousin,” he says quietly. “Mine and Dylan’s.”

“And why is she inEden?” Olive whispers. “How did she get there?”

We stay silent and exchange looks.

“If you ever respected me atall, you’ll tell me right now,” she snarls, tears spilling down her cheeks. “Tell me!”

I want nothing more than to rush to her and wipe the tears away. But she looks at me with a mixture of disdain and horror, and it freezes me in place.

This is so fucked.

“We turned her in,” Dylan says quietly.

She shakes her head in disbelief.

“Why?” She chokes out.

“We thought it was the right thing to do,” he mutters. “We thought—”

“We thought it was best for her,” Brock adds solemnly. “I thoughtEdenwas the better choice for her.”

Olive scoffs. “The better choice?” She snarls. “Better thanwhat?”

I remember the arguments I had with Brock. The way I broke his nose the first time when I found out what he had done with Hannah.

But I never told Olive.

I’m just as guilty.

“She was struggling,” he continues. “Olive, I swear to you, I thought—”

“No, you didn’t fuckingthink!” She takes another step back, her voice echoing through the house. “That wasn’tyourdecision!”
