Epilogue
Grey picked his phone up when it rang. “Warner.”
“It’s Brett.”
“Hey, have you found anything on Bethany?”
“Not much so far. She’s not using her social security number for anything. I’m hoping it’s just because she’s married and doesn’t need it to work.”
“Or she could be dead,” Grey said. He was so glad he hadn’t told Emily he was trying to find her friend because it would break her heart if she were deceased.
“Yeah, that’s what I was thinking.”
“Keep looking.”
“You got it. I won’t stop until I find some information on her.”
“Thank you.”
Grey sat back and wondered if he was making a mistake trying to find her. It was just the way Emily talked about her that gave him the idea. But people changed all the time, and if he brought her home and she hurt Emily in some way, he’d be pissed and deal with her.
He sighed. He’d let it play out and see. He’d get Brett’s opinion of her before he let her come. Until then, he had his little to take care of.
