Chapter Seventeen
Several weeks later, Cat fell into bed and sighed.
“Our boy is running you ragged, sweetheart. I think we should hire a few nannies,” King said.
She rolled to sit on the mattress and faced him. She hadn’t stopped illustrating children’s books because she enjoyed it so much, but between that, Corey, and spending time with King, she was exhausted by the end of the day. “I did it before. I just have to manage my time better.”
He slid his hand up and down her thigh. “I know you can do it, but you don’t have to now.”
“But the thought of someone else raising Corey makes me insane.”
“They wouldn’t be doing that. They would just be here when we needed them, and you would give them the guidelines and routines you want followed.”
She chewed on her lip and took a moment to think. It would help her out a lot, and it wasn’t like she’d be away. She’d still be in the house and could check on them with the monitor that was set up in Corey’s room.
“Why do we have to have more than one?” she asked.
“They’ll have different days to help you, and if they weren’t with Corey or had their day off, Mrs. Pinkerson can give them things to do. We’d hire them to live here. We’ve got plenty of servant apartments to house them.”
The was true. She’d come to find out one whole wing of the house was for the servants. King’s philosophy was if you took care of them, they would enjoy and work hard to care for him, and it worked. There were three floors on the servant wing. Franklin, Stanly, the head gardener, two of the senior guards, and Mrs. Pinkerson had nice apartments on the main floor that were larger than the others. The other employees took the apartments on the second and third floors of the estate.
It never failed to amaze her how many people King had there just to take care of the house, garden, and them. She thought she had met all of them, and then a maid or a guard would introduce themselves to her.
“I guess we can try,” she said. “How do we go about finding good ones?”
“I’ll talk to a few friends I know who have them and get the agency they used, and any tips on how to hire one. It might take a couple of weeks just to find one.”
That wouldn’t bother her. It would take her a while to get used to the idea of having nannies. “Okay, I’d like to be in the interviews.”
He abruptly pulled her down on top of him, making her gasp. “Of course. I wouldn’t do this without you.”
She snuggled up against him and raised her mouth for a kiss. Just touching him was all it took to raise her need for him, even when she was exhausted.
He kissed her passionately and then tucked her against his chest. “As much as I’d like to fuck you, I need you to sleep more.”
“But—”
“Don’t worry. If I don’t have you in the morning, I’ll find you and lay you across my desk."
She shivered, making him chuckle. “Go to sleep.”
He did that very thing the next day. After she put Corey down for a nap, he pulled her into his office and locked the door, then pressed her face-down over the desk, making her giggle. “What are you doing?” she asked.
“Did you wear what your daddy told you to and nothing more?” he asked as he slowly pulled the back of her skirt up.
“Yes.” Cool air touched her ass as he tucked the skirt under her stomach, leaving her bare from the waist down.
“Now, that’s a pretty sight.”
She giggled and then groaned as his hands went over her ass.
“I’m going to fuck your sweet pussy and then dive into your tight ass. Would you like your daddy to do that?”
Her fingers dug into the leather mat on the top of his desk, and she nodded.
“You like having your daddy there, baby?”
“I love having my daddy everywhere,” she said.
