Cat nodded. “I’ll only say this to you. But if he’s successful and gets Corey from me, I’ll be dead.”
“What does that mean?”
“It means my son is the only thing that’s keeping me on earth. If I don’t have him, I don’t have anything.”
“Please don’t say that. We’ll get this figured out. I’ve got a key code to Darian’s condo uptown. I’ll help you get your things there. We never stay there, so it’s perfect. Is it okay if I bring in a few friends tomorrow? They might be able to give us ideas.”
“I don’t need help today, but thank you. You trust the women?”
“Oh, yes, with my life.”
“Okay.” Cat exhaled.
“I’ll have the girls bring some food tomorrow morning, and we’ll deal with everything then.” Larkin handed her a piece of paper with the code on it and told her the address.
Cat nodded.
“Can you think of anything else I can do right now? I can give you whatever money you need.”
Cat shook her head. “No, you’ve done so much already. I can’t thank you enough.”
“All I want to do is get you both safe and play with my nephew.”
Cat laughed. God, she loved this woman. “I’ve got to go, but I’ll see you tomorrow.”
They hugged and then she went to get her son. She planned on calling a taxi and then her cousin after she got to the condo to tell him what was going on. She would miss him so much, but he’d understand. He was all the family she had besides Corey.
