“Okay.” She let them take off the bra but immediately hid her breasts with her arms again.
Reid rolled his eyes and did what he could to cover the wound with the things Brett found in the apartment. Brett handed them another button-down shirt of hers, and the other two helped her slip it on.
Warrick tipped her head back. “We’re going to pack up your things before we go. Besides your clothes and bathroom things, is there anything else you want to take?”
“Wait. Why? I thought I wasn’t getting arrested.”
“You’re not, honey. Remember, you’re going home with me,” Warrick said.
“Why?”
“She’s exhausted, Warrick. It’s not soaking in,” Brett said.
Warrick nodded and then turned back to her. “Because I want you there, and I’m hoping you want the same thing. If not, I’ll put you up in an apartment.”
“I should probably take my kitchen things and furniture. I don’t want to have to spend money on new things.”
“What if I told you that you didn’t have to worry about anything like that again?” Warrick asked.
She looked up at him. Even sitting in his lap, he was still so much taller than her. “I don’t understand.”
“I want to take care of you,” Warrick said.
She shook her head. “I couldn’t ask you to do that.”
“You’re not asking. I’m telling you. The only way you’re going to get away from me is if you can’t stand to be around me.”
She gasped. “That’s not true. I … I like being with you.”
“Good. Now, I’m going to ask you to trust me.”
“With what?” she asked.
“Everything.”
She exhaled. “That’s a lot.”
“I can handle it.”
“Okay.” She bit her lip. “Where are you taking me?”
Warrick snorted. “I told you. You’re going home with me.”
“But I don’t know you. What if you’re a sex trafficker or something?”
The three men chuckled.
“Not by a long shot. If you want, how about we have someone in the ER check into us while we’re there?”
Her shoulders relaxed. “Okay.”
“So, we’ll leave everything here but your personal things.”
“Oh, there’s a bag of money under a floorboard in the closet.”
“Why didn’t you put it in the bank?” Brett asked.
She felt the heat of a blush cover her face. “Um, because that was a few of the places I hacked into. They need to step up the security big time.”
