“I want you to drink this.”
She nodded and got down two pieces of pizza and all the juice, but she could feel the throbbing get worse.
“I think I’ll lie down now.” She stood and looked around. “Where is my purse?”
The guys glanced at each other.
“We have it, baby. Mack told us about the spill, and we wanted to check it out.”
“I just spilled something in it. It’s not a big deal.”
“Mack said the scent gave you headaches? Do you think it might be the cause of the one you’re having now?”
“Yes. I don’t wear perfume because it makes me sick.”
“So, where would you get the liquid, and why would you touch it if you knew it would make you sick?”
“I don’t know.” She pressed on her temple again. “Can I have it? I need to get my medicine.”
“It wasn’t in there.”
She stared at Sean. “Yes, it is. I always carry it, and I even saw it this morning when I pulled out my wallet.”
“It’s not in there.”
She shook her head. What in the world? She knew something was up, but the pain was creeping up on her.
“I’ve got some of your medicine, baby. Let’s get you taken care of.” He picked her up in his arms and took her into the bathroom.
“Do you have to use the toilet?”
“No, but I have to brush my teeth.”
“I’ll grab a glass of water and the pills.”
When she was done, she headed to the bed when he walked back in. She immediately downed the medicine and glass of water before pulling back the blanket and crawling in.
Sean tucked it around her shoulders and closed the drapes to keep out the setting sun.
“I’ll be here, baby, and I’ll be checking on you.”
She nodded and then closed her eyes. “Okay.”
“Say, ‘Okay, Daddy.’”
She smiled. “Okay, Daddy.”
He pressed his lips to her forehead. “Good girl. Now, go to sleep.”
She snuggled under the blanket and was out a minute later.
