Travis was watching his friend head Ava’s way when he saw his little, Nia, stride toward Sean with a protective look in her eyes. He caught up with her and wrapped an arm around her waist, effectively stopping her. “Whatcha doing, darling?”
Nia tensed. “You need to stop him, Travis. He’s going to scare her. She won’t be able to handle him.”

I just can’t stand to see that look in her eyes again. And Sean is intense and always cranky, and it might overwhelm her.”

“Let me tell you something. I’ve never seen that look on Sean’s face. I never thought I would ever see it.
