Her heartbeat galloped in her chest. She didn’t think she’d be able to trust this soon after Alan. When her throat grew tight, she swallowed and decided she needed time to think about this.
“Um, I really need to go, Sean. Maybe we can talk later?”
“Oh, we’ll talk, baby, and sooner than you think. But let’s get you to work now.”
As they finished walking to the truck, Ava realized she might have a problem getting up. Before she could try, Sean opened the door, picked her up, and set her in the seat. He even went so far as to buckle her seat belt.
When he leaned over her to engage the buckle, her breath caught in her chest. She was in shock when her nipples hardened, and her breasts swelled. Her stomach tightened, and need roared through her system. He woke up the desire she had long ago buried to the point that it was almost painful.
When he leaned back, he stared at her intently, passionately. She could tell that he knew what he was doing to her. She didn’t have to see the wave of red that covered her complexion because she could feel the warmth spread.
She held her breath and wondered if he would kiss her, then asked herself if she wanted him to. Honestly, yes, she did. She tried not to show any disappointment when he pulled back and closed her door.
