Sitting around the room were four other men. Kaleb, Gage, Kane, and Eli. Trey had met them all at one time, so he felt very comfortable. He was handed a glass and took an empty seat.
Darian cleared his throat to get everyone’s attention. “As you know, our intention tonight is to find out what our girls are up to. They are keeping a secret from us, and I don’t like it.”
Trey watched every man nod and heard a few of them grumble.
“Have any of you got a clue?” Darian asked.
Every man shook his head.
“When I’ve tried to talk to Kinley, she starts crying,” Eli said.
“I think all of them get upset,” Gage said. “And that tells me the secret they’re keeping is more intense than we first thought.”
Darian picked up a remote and looked at him and Travis. “We’ve been watching them on and off tonight. They haven’t given anything away yet.”
Trey watched the big screen come on in what he thought was the playroom from all the toys sitting around.
Travis sat up. “Where the fuck are they?”
“Turn the volume up. I think I hear them,” Kane said.
Darian turned it up as much as possible, but it was still hard to hear what they were saying.
“Where the hell are they? You can’t hide six girls behind anything in the room.”
“The closet,” Darian said.
“I just heard Jenna’s name,” Eli said.
That made Trey perk up a bit.
“They’re trying to shore up their determination to keep the secret because they know what we’re going to try to get the information out of them tonight,” Kaleb said.
Eli pressed the heel of his hand against his chest. “I can’t go another night with Kinley crying.”
The men nodded.
Trey hoped they would get the answers they needed because he could see how worried the men were.
