Chapter Five
After dinner, the men sent the girls back up to the playroom, and they went back into the office. Darian handed out glasses while Gage closed the door.
“Now we have to come up with a way to help little Jenna out,” Darian said.
“Where did she meet the guy?” Trey asked.
“Both she and Kyla work at the movie theatre. That’s where some of the girls met them since they go to the movies all the time. Larkin said that’s where Jenna met Billy. They had gone out for a few dates, but Jenna started complaining about him pushing her to have sex, and when she wouldn’t, he’d beat on her.”
Trey could feel his anger grow. “Jesus. Why hasn’t she said anything to anyone?”
“Sienna told me she’s trying to be independent and thinks she can take care of this situation by herself. She’s always had to fight her own fights, so she hates asking for help from anyone,” Kane said.
“She’s such a timid little thing,” Trey said and then was confused when the men laughed. “What?”
“Jenna usually doesn’t have a timid bone in her body,” Gage told him.
“But she wouldn’t look at me in the eyes. I thought she was afraid of me.”
Travis snorted. “The problem with Jenna is she’s not afraid to try anything, and she thinks she’s bigger than she is. She grew up in a big family that pretty much ignored her, so she was on her own most of the time. She’s been hiding from all of us men. It wasn’t just you because she was afraid we’d find out.”
“Does she still see her family?”
“A few of them. A lot of them went into the military, and her parents are gone,” Gage said.
“We need to set her down and talk to her,” Eli said.
Travis shook her head. “I doubt that would help. She’ll turn stubborn. I guarantee it.”
“Why don’t one of you punish her? It seems to work on your girls.”
The men grinned at him.
Darian spoke up. “Our littles would throw a screaming fit. They don’t like us to touch other women, and I don’t blame them. If I saw a man touching Larkin, I’d lose it. Unless, of course, I invited him to.”
The men grinned.
Fuck, they really invited other men to touch their women? He didn’t know if he’d be able to do that.
The room grew quiet, and Trey looked up to see all the men staring at him.
“What?” he asked the group.
“We can’t discipline her, but you’re single and are showing an interest in her,” Kaleb said.
Just the thought of his hands on her made him hard as a rock.
Travis smirked at him. “I think he likes the idea.” He pointed to the tented material of his pants. The other men laughed.
“Well, she’s beautiful.”
“She is,” Darian agreed.
“So, you all just want me to intervene and give her the help she needs?”
“That depends on what you want from her,” Gage said. “If you want to get to know her, you go as far as she allows you to. I think there’s a chance she might take to you.”
“Yes, I agree with Gage,” Kane said. “But she’s going to fight you when you try to help her, and it might mess up your chance if you’d like to get to know her.”
