I glance over my shoulder to see if Cillian is coming, but he and his father stay behind. “We’ve both said what we needed to. Let the men have it out if they choose to. It’s a waste of breath and time if you ask me.”
“I agree.”
She gently squeezes my hand. “Now I don’t know if you noticed, but I just happen to have all these ideas for an outdoor country wedding.”
“You just happen to have?” I laugh. “And it just so happens those were my favorite.”
“Perfect. I guess it’s a good thing since you’re expecting.” She winks at me, and I can’t help but think that she looks proud.
Although it’s not from my own mother, I’ve come to realize that family is what you make and not what you have. I’m going to make a wonderful family with Cillian and those that we love. If my parents want to be involved, they can, but I’m not waiting on them to realize what they’re missing.
“Yes, I’d say that’s a very good thing.”
