Epilogue - Jonas

Five Years Later - Seattle, Washington

The Space Needle was visible outside of our penthouse and even after the last two years of partially living in Seattle, it still managed to amaze me. But it wasn’t all I could say that about. As I entered the room in my custom tuxedo, I saw my reflection in the floor-to-ceiling glass where Kenzie was standing. As I approached her, she turned and smiled. We ended up being engaged just over a year before we took the plunge and got married. To Kenzie’s surprise, her parents showed up for the ceremony and everything she had ever mentioned wanting was given to her. I couldn’t take all the credit for that monumental task, especially since her father had once despised me so much. They had eventually forgiven the two of us and embraced our union wholeheartedly. Kenzie had suspected Madeleine had a lot to do with it, and she hadn’t been wrong. It didn’t matter who or how it happened, only that it did. There was nothing in this world I wouldn’t give her, and I liked to think she not only knew but accepted that.

We’d now been married for almost four years, yet we still acted like newlyweds. My sex addiction problem wasn’t an issue anymore because my wife was such a wanton slut for me, and I loved it. I sometimes wondered if it was wise for two fucked-up people to get together, but we made each other stronger, so it only reconfirmed that we had made the right decision. The smile she gave me when our eyes met also did.

“If you keep looking at me like that, we’ll never get to the Pacific Grille in time for your grand opening. What would it look like for the chef and owner to not show up to her own party?”

“You wouldn’t dare,” she suggested, and I grinned at her.

I reached out and lowered the strap to her black dress before she spun out of my grasp and pulled it back up. “I want nothing more than to tear your dress off with my teeth and fuck you right here for the whole Pacific Northwest to see and hear.”

She shivered, and I smirked more. I loved the effect I had on her, and despite her occasional shyness, when we were together, she was quite the exhibitionist. There wasn’t any place we had come across where we wouldn’t touch one another. I was no longer addicted to sex, but I was certainly feigning for her. I needed her like someone needed air to breathe. The twinkle in her eye let me know I wasn’t the only one feeling that way.

“Tonight is my grand opening so it would be bad form to not show up at all,” she replied.

I pretended to scowl, then winked at her giggle. Damn, I loved to make her laugh, and for the longest time, all I had seemed to do was make her cry so this was a nice change. It was funny how love could change one’s entire perception about anything. Kenzie was my anchor, and I’d never let her go again.

“I suppose we can shake a few hands, sample a few food items, then sneak up here for dessert.”

“Luckily for you, dessert is my favorite meal,” she teased, then made a show of bending over to adjust the strap on her stilettos.

“Keep on teasing me and you’re not going to make it down there at all.”

At that warning, she straightened back up, then extended her hand to me. It wasn’t where I wanted to feel hers, but this wouldn’t take too long. I supposed being generous, it might take an hour or two, but anything longer than and I would have to go back on my promise to be social.

In addition to running the Desert Grille in Phoenix, she had just started running the Seaport Grille in the same hotel where we had reunited. The contract had ended on Leeann DeSoto’s restaurant, and the space was redone as per my wife’s taste. She just recently opened it, and now we were in Seattle at a third location. In both New York and Arizona, both restaurants were a success. I had no doubt this one would be, too.

“Okay, let’s go.”

We walked hand in hand out of the penthouse suite and to the elevators. It took everything in me not to fuck her against the mirrored tiles on the way down. Just because I didn’t act on my desire didn’t mean I hadn’t gotten aroused. I was now sporting a hard-on that would be obvious to anyone looking. Even my wife had noticed it, because she would innocently rub against me or touch me there in some way.

“Once our obligation here is done, I’m going to fuck you so hard,” I warned seconds before she placed a chaste kiss on my lips, then disappeared into the kitchen.

All our friends had come out to celebrate the grand opening. While we men were all considered Titans, we all knew that we were only as powerful as the women beside us. As I looked sympathetically over at Kristopher, maybe that didn’t apply to all of us. Believing he needed a distraction, I walked over to the table and ignored the hateful glance I received from Hayley. One of the reigning Queen Bees in New York City high society, she was a bitch in every way. They’d had two kids together and because of them, Kristopher stayed, even though she tried to emasculate him every chance she got.

“Hey guys, mind if I sit here?” I asked.

“Go right ahead,” Kristopher replied.

“I told you I want to leave,” Hayley whined.

Kristopher shot me an annoyed look before turning to his wife, who more resembled the ball and chain we often joked about. “Kenzie would appreciate our support, so I think we need to stay a bit longer.”

“She doesn’t give a damn if you’re here or not. It’s not like you’re her husband or anything.” Hayley then smirked at me. “I’m sure Jonas keeps her pretty occupied.”

“I’m very appreciative of your ongoing support,” I told them, then turned to Kristopher. “Why don’t we let Hayley find some friends to talk to while we have a cigar outside with the other guys?”

“He doesn’t need a cigar,” Hayley answered immediately, and I looked at my friend.

I had known Kristopher since we were young boys and while he seemed carefree most of the time, he would reach his breaking point and I sensed this trip would be one of those times. There was a certain look in his eyes I hadn’t seen since college and I hoped his wife took a hint and stopped pushing before he exploded.

“I would like for him to join me, Hayley.”

“I want to go upstairs.” She seethed, changing her tactic.

Kristopher looked over at me, then his wife, before flashing an apologetic look. “It’s been a long day. I’m going to head to our room. Please pass along our congratulations to your beautiful wife and—”
