Everyone claps and I blush because Kiss-Tastic is beautiful. The color is a universally flattering ruby red color, and I’m actually wearing it now to match my crimson dress and matching high heels.
But Todd’s not done yet.
“As you can see, my girlfriend is a big inspiration for me, but some of these colors were also inspired by the baby we’re going to bring into this world within a few months. Sugar Glaze is my firstborn, and it only made sense to pay tribute to my human child through my company.”
A chorus of “awwws” rings through the penthouse as Todd grins and kisses my cheek. But then, he lifts a hand and speaks again.
“None of this would be possible without Bridget by my side,” Todd continues. “I owe the success of Sugar Glaze this year to her, and I can’t imagine sharing this year, or the rest of my life, with anyone else.” Then before I realize what’s happening, Todd’s dropped to one knee before me, his huge form handsome in a well-cut suit. Even more, he’s got a small velvet box in his palm which he snaps open to reveal a massive diamond ring that sparkles under the lights.
“Bridget Bushnell, will you marry me?” he asks in a strong voice, his eyes fixed on my astonished features. “You are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met, as well as the mother of my child and the love of my life. You have made me so happy already, and I can’t imagine going through life without you. Will you, honey? Please, put a poor wretch out of his misery and say yes!”
I laugh at that declaration and nod.
“Of course, I will, Todd. I’d love to become Mrs. Todd Sales.”
With that, my man stands and slips the ring onto my finger. The rest of the world seems to melt away as we stare at the ring in awe, his big hand resting on my belly, unconsciously caressing the baby within.
“Thank you for saying yes,” he murmurs, looking into my eyes. “I love you, sweetheart.”
I swallow the lump in my throat and gaze into his blue eyes, drowning in the sincerity there.
“Thank you, Todd,” I say in a my own choked-up voice. “I love you too, and I’m so glad we worked past our misunderstandings because looking back, it was pretty ridiculous right?”
He grins and pulls me in for a quick kiss.
“It was, and we’ll never let something like that happen again. It’s you and me against the world, sweetheart. Forever.”
With that, we kiss again and only break apart when we realize that the crowd’s cheering and clapping around us. This is the happiest day ever because not only did we throw a party to celebrate our new line of products, but the names represent what means the most to us in life: our love, our happiness, and of course, the baby on the way. With Todd at my side, I know we can power through anything, and the best part of it all is that we’ll do it together.
