“I will.”
“Do you promise?” He cups my chin with his thumb and forefinger, tipping my head so that I look him in the eyes. God, I love looking into his hazel-colored eyes. They’re full of intent, determination, and adoration when he stares into mine.
“Yes, I promise.”
“I love you, Lara. I love you so damn much. I don’t know if you even understand how much, but I need you to grasp that, baby.”
“I love you too, Landon. I’m crazy about you to the point of madness. We’re just meant to be.” He picks me up and I wrap my legs around his waist, locking my ankles together. Carrying me throughout the condo, he takes me to the kitchen and sets me on the breakfast bar.
“Woman, you need to eat before I fuck your pretty cunt. You’ve been studying for hours, and I’m sure that you haven’t eaten. Am I right?”
“But I’m not hungry right now. I’m horny.”
“Fine. How about I part your legs and eat that sweet slit of yours until you’re gushing on my face, and then you can eat some food.”
“That sounds like a wonderful idea to me, but what about your needs?”
“I need to take care of my future wife.” He runs his hands up my thighs, stopping before he gets to my pussy, moving back down to my knee.
“Why are you stopping?”
“I’m not, love. I want you worked up for me and not some little fuckers you were studying with.”
“What?”
“Danny told you?”
“He didn’t have to.”
“How did you…?”
“So they made you aroused?”
“God, no. I just mean how did you know there were guys in the study group?”
“I got off and passed by the library and saw the study session going on.”
“Then why didn’t you come in?”
“Because you were studying, and besides, I want you to know that I trust you. I just had to see you.”
“Wish you were there.”
“Why?”
“I missed you, and calculus sucks.”
“Good to know, because I’m a fucking jealous man and I’ve been trying not to lose my shit over that fuck stealing glances. If Danny wasn’t snarling at him every second, I would have come inside and pinned you to the desk right there.”
“Oh yeah? Pinned me and done what?”
“I would have pulled down these leggings, whipped out my cock and buried it between your legs, drilling you for him to see. Let everyone there know you belong to me.”
“No, you wouldn’t.”
“Okay, you’re right, but it doesn’t mean that I won’t remind him you belong to me.” And he spends the rest of the night showing me that I belong to him, and I have no complaints at all. Goodness, Landon Black could stamp his name on my ass and I would wear that shit proudly. I’m a woman madly in love with a crazy, obsessed caveman in a suit. Who would have thought it possible?
Chapter Thirteen
Landon
Lara fidgets with the edge of her sweater as we drive to her parents’ home. We’re only a couple of miles away, and she gets more and more nervous with every cloud of dust that picks up. I’m not sure what for. I’ve spoken to her father already, and I’ve made it clear that nothing and no one will be breaking us apart.
“Relax, Lara.”
“I am relaxed.”
“Bullshit. What’s bothering you? Are you afraid that they’ll convince you to stay?”
“No. It’s just…what if you change your mind?”
“Stop, Danny.” He pulls over to the side. I unbuckle our seatbelts and lift her onto my lap. Grabbing her face with my hands, I look into my beloved Lara’s eyes. “I love you, Lara. No way in hell am I ever letting you go. I’m not changing my mind, not now or in fifty years. You’re stuck with me. I don’t care how many times you’ve been arrested by the local sheriff or how much shit you got yourself in. You’re mine.”
“Are you sure you love me enough?”
“Of course. I thought it was obvious. I knew I loved you from the first moment we met. I know it’s probably too soon for you to understand the depths of my adoration, but I’ve made my intentions clear for a reason.”
“It’s not too soon. I love you too, and it’s why I’m so scared because I don’t want to lose you.”
“Good. Now, sit in your seat and put your seatbelt back on because I need to meet your parents and plan this wedding before the weekend’s over with.”
“You’re serious?”
“Dead serious,” I promise, kissing her hard before turning to address Danny. “Drive us, please.”
She calms down a bit until we pull into the large gate that has a double R on the front, reading “Reynolds Ranch” on the sign to the left of the entrance. It’s a lot nicer than I expected. Given the way she avoids mentioning her town and her home, I thought it would be a broken-down farm with a few animals. This place is fantastic, although it’s clear that they need security. It’s severely lacking.
