“Feisty, I like it.” He winks as me, leaning in for another mind-numbing kiss.

“We only have an hour before we have to get ready, West.”

“You deny my ability to blow your mind in sixty minutes?”

“Let’s see if you can keep up.” And he does just that, warming me up and melting me all over again.

We showup half an hour late to Reece and Addison’s engagement party. Opening the front door, people are littered everywhere around the room. Pushing our way through, we spot the happy couple, holding onto each other, with a glass of champagne in each of their hands.

“Wyn! It’s about damn time you showed up,” Addison shouts over at me, and my cheeks blush with embarrassment knowing why we were so late.

“I’m sorry, we’re late.” She comes over, hugs both Weston and I, and then chuckles.

“You guys couldn’t wait until after the party to get it on? Can’t keep your hands off each other…”

“I have to keep my ice queen happy, Adds,” Weston smirks at me.

I elbow him, and he kisses my forehead.

“It’s okay, you’re forgiven, I’m so glad you’re here.”

“Happy Engagement!!!” I hug her again and mean every word. “Seriously, you deserve every bit of happiness.”

I watch as Weston walks over and bumps fists with Reece.

“This will be you guys soon. I know it. The man wants to lock you down, I can tell.”

“Maybe, we’ll see,” I say back.

She pulls away from our hug, looking me head on. “He will. He’s in love with you, Wyn. The way he watches you. The way you move together like two planets in the same planetary rotation. You’re the moon to his sun. The cold to his hot. Yin and yang, baby. You’re perfect together.”

I smile at her, truly happy for once. “I hope so. I never thought I’d love someone as much as I love that goofball. Fairytale tattoos, Princess obsession, and all.”

“I never pegged him for a fairytale guru. Not until I saw the memorabilia room when we moved. I thought he was joking. Reece still laughs at me about my reaction. Plus, I may know something that you don’t know.”

“Adds…”

She shakes her head. “Nope, nuh uh. I’m not saying another word.”

My eyes trail over to Weston. He rubs his hands like he’s nervous, and I raise my eyebrow when he looks up at me. He winks and then goes back to speaking with Reece, but the fidgeting still continues.

“Hey, Addison… what aren’t you telling me?”

“Wait and see, babe.”

Two hours later we watch as the final guest makes their exit. Weston turns to me . “You ready to get going?”

“Sure am.” I smile up at the man who’s captured my heart.

“Let’s go say goodbye and head out.”

Saying one final congrats, we leave. Weston hits the up button on the elevator as we get on.

“Where are we going?”

“I’ve got a surprise for you.” Pulling his phone from his pocket, he sends off a quick text. The elevator stops at the rooftop and I step off into the most romantic scene. Red rose petals lead a trail to a table set for two. The light from the candles glisten off two glasses of red wine. Beautiful against the New York skyline.

When I turn back to look at Weston, I see him kneeling in front of me. He holds open a red velvet ring box with a 2-carat princess cut solitaire engagement ring in a platinum setting. Tears form in my eyes and I don’t even resist holding them back this time.
