I need to focus; my mind is racing off in far too many directions to be helpful to anyone, least of all me.
First things first. I need to train, to test my theories on my captors, and to plan accordingly. If I can figure out a way to get Luci alone later to coax some information out of him, even better.
I stop pacing as I hear the sound of approaching footsteps, my heart leaping into my throat as I take a step back from the door.
A key turns in the lock before the door slowly opens, long tattooed fingers curling around the side as Seven’s grinning face appears in the crack.
“Hello, Evi,” Seven says, cocking his head as he pushes the door open wider and moves to leans against it. “Ready for me?”
I shift slightly to try to peer past his massive frame, but the hall is empty.
Somehow, once again, I’ve been left alone with Seven.
