“I was sure she was gone forever.”
“She’s here where she belongs. Just like me.” He stared into her eyes. “I’m quitting, Rory. I want to run this farm with you and hand it down to our children.”
“Are you sure?”
“I’ve thought a lot about it these past few weeks. It’s where I want to be. Right by your side on this farm.”
She kissed him. “I’d love that. Once we get married, we’ll work on those kids.”
“Married? Who said anything about getting married?” He grinned when she punched him.
“As I said before, you’re going to marry me, Wilder Richards.”
He frowned. “You know, I don’t remember that.”
“Wilder!”
He chuckled. “You know I’m teasing. Damn right I’m going to marry you.”
He lowered his lips to hers and kissed her. He knew he’d never get enough of this woman, and he was okay with that. Life would never be boring. This is where he was meant to be.
He never believed in fate, at least not until he saw her, and he’d do everything to make her happy for the rest of his life. Thiswaswhere he belonged. With her and the children they raised. Forever.
