They’d also all signed on the dotted line without any hesitation when Parker had the paperwork drawn up and sent over. It’d taken some time to see them all and then to wait for the paperwork, and during that time, I’d worked on myself.

Learning to trust Parker with my whole heart and to lean on him hadn’t been easy, but I was getting there. A few weeks ago, I’d finally told him my new plan, and that was to get started on building a family as soon as possible.

In the end, I’d decided I was done with letting fear hold me back. I couldn’t deny that I was still afraid, but I had a way bigger support system now than most parents and I wanted to live while I was alive. Live without trying to control everything and without always trying to plan for the unknown.

Lennon had been helping me a lot on that front, randomly calling me up for spontaneous days out and teaching me how she grabbed hold of every moment and tried to make it count. I was ready, or at least as ready as I would ever be, to let fear take a backseat while I went after everything I’d ever wanted.

Which was also why I’d agreed to go into early retirement—temporarily. Parker and I were taking the year off to just be, and after that, who knew what we would do? I still had my business, but I’d appointed a girl who reminded me of a younger version of myself to manage it for the year. It had been more difficult than I ever would’ve been able to imagine to leave it all in someone else’s hands, but so far, she was doing a great job.

Movement to my left caught my attention, and I lazily turned my head just in time to see Parker running up with a coconut with a straw in it in one hand and a plate of freshly cut pineapple in the other. Beach life suited him, his skin already bronzed and a sexy smile that just wouldn’t quit permanently etched on his lips.

Forest green swimming trunks hung from his hips, clinging to them in a way that suggested it wouldn’t take much to get them off. Other than that, he was completely, totally naked. My heart soared and raced as I watched him approach. He dropped down beside me and set the treats down on the little table between us.

He grinned, his gaze practically caressing my body as he dragged it from my head to my toes and back up again. “Now that I’ve got breakfast sorted, what do you want to do with the day?”

“I’m going to lie in the sun, nap for the next couple of hours, and then after that, I think we should get back to our plan.”

“You mean the one where I put a baby or two in you as soon as possible?” He smiled when I nodded and bit my lip. “I love that plan.”

“In the meantime, will you rub some more of that on my back?” I shot a pointed look at the bottle of sunscreen on the table with our breakfast.

“You’re lying on your back, which means it’s not burning.” He smirked but got up and sat down on the lounger with me. “I’m still happy to oblige, though.”

I turned over, hearing the soft pop of the lid when he opened the bottle. Closing my eyes, I rested my head on my arms and relished the feel of his strong hands making smooth, wide circles on my skin.

God, he’s good at this.My nerve endings sparked and came to life under his touch, my entire body starting to ache for him even though I’d woken up to his head between my legs just a few hours ago.

When he moved lower, his fingers grazing my intimate zones, I turned over, pulling him down to kiss him. He chuckled against my lips. “What happened to the nap?”

“Screw the nap. Let’s get back to the plan.”

He laughed. “I love a woman who knows what she wants.”

“Well, I want your baby, so we’ll just have to spend all day, every day making love until we have one.”

“You drive a hard bargain, but it does seem to fall under the plan.” He sealed his lips over mine, kissing me deeply and covering my body with his. “We may just need to take one day off next month on account of our wedding and all.”

I sighed into his mouth, happier than I’d ever been and so in love that my heart almost couldn’t take it. “I can agree to that, but I have a few rules.”

He groaned and smacked the side of my butt, laughing as he smothered my jaw and neck in kisses. “Fuck the rules, Bella. For now until forever, it’s just you and me, doing whatever we want, whenever we want.”

I giggled, wrapping my arms and legs around him as I pulled back just a little to look into those warm brown eyes I loved so damn much. “Yeah. Okay. As long as it’s you and me together forever, I can definitely agree to that.”

And I’d do so happily. Unreservedly and without ever doubting that taking the job with him had been the best damn decision I’d ever made.

My brother is an idiot—he’s getting married.

And I’m in charge of getting things together since our folks are gone.

Lucky me. The guy who thinks love is for the birds and worn-out 80s songs.

I honestly don’t have time for this drama. I run a billion-dollar company, have women to entertain, and am working on my plans to rule the world.
