She snorts a laugh but obviously decides against fighting him and falls down at his side. Although she’s stiff as a fucking board as he wraps his arm around her shoulders and pulls her into his side.
“You smell good enough to eat, Baby C,” Alex announces after dropping his nose to her hair.
“Put your mouth anywhere fucking near her and I’ll—”
“So I’m assuming Alex is a twin,” I say to Toby, ignoring Nico’s threat to shove something so far up Alex’s arse he’ll never be able to remove it.
“Daemon,” Toby says loudly, causing Alex’s double to look over. “Jodie, Daemon. Daemon, Jodie.”
He nods in greeting as I quickly take in the differences between them. Physically, they’re almost identical, but their aura is totally different. Daemon’s eyes are also darker, more mysterious, and he looks a hell of a lot tenser than his twin does right now as he continues taunting Nico.
“Your friends are—”
“Dickheads, but I love them anyway. Come on.” Toby takes my hand and drags me toward the group. He falls into a space beside Emmie and Theo and drags me onto his lap.
“So what are we eating? I’m starving,” Alex asks.
“Dude, you just ate two massive bags of crisps,” Seb points out.
“Yeah, I’m a growing boy.” He leans into Calli and loudly whispers. “I’ll show you which bit grows later if you want.”
Nico growls in irritation.
“Nico, bro. You’re gonna give yourself an aneurysm if you carry on. Alex isn’t gonna fuck your sister.”
“In front of you,” Alex adds just to continue poking the bear. And from the way Nico’s face turns damn near purple with irritation, I’ve got to say I understand why they tease him so much, even if it is a bit mean.
