“Dude, if we’re forced to sit here much longer, I’ll come fucking join you,” Alex mutters.
“You’d be so fucking lucky,” Seb barks. “I’m sure Calli is all cold and lonely tonight. You could keep her company.”
From my spot in the back of the car, I watch as Nico’s fists curl on his lap and his jaw tics with frustration.
“We’re waiting for Daemon,” Theo tells us, ignoring Seb’s attempt to bait the both of them.
“Waiting for him to do what exactly?”
Theo’s eyes meet mine in the mirror.
“I thought you all wanted this over.”
“Well, yeah but—” My words are cut off when his phone rings through the speakers.
“Yeah,” he barks when the call connects.
“They’re on the move. Get your arses to the Den.”
“You got it. Thanks, man.”
“What did he do?” Alex asks.
“Nothing much. Just poked the hornet’s nest a little,” Theo says, starting the car. “Something we should have done days ago.”
“Ready to party, boys?”
Seb cracks his knuckles. “Fuck yes. Let’s wipe these old motherfuckers from the face of the earth and get home to our girls.”
My heart sinks at his words.
If fucking only.
