“Shit.”
“Eat up, Demon. I’ve got plans for the rest of our night, and they don’t involve spending too much time here.”
* * *
“Ican’t believe you asked for that to be boxed up,” I say, looking between Toby’s eyes and the container full of tiramisu in his hand.
“Why not? It’s too good to resist.”
“Then we could have eaten it in there.”
“We could,” he says, crowding me until I’ve no choice but to back up against his car. “But I have a much better idea for how we could eat it.”
“Toby,” I say, pressing my hand to his chest to stop him from crushing me. “I’m meant to be pissed at you. I only agreed to meet you tonight so I could shout at you,” I inform him.
“So shout at me. I’ll even let you hit me, if you want. There’s nothing like a bit of pain with your pleasure. Don’t you agree, Demon?”
“You’re so bad.”
“I wanna take you back to my place. Show you where I live. Let you into my life,” he tells me, brushing his lips across my cheek and sending a shockwave of desire through my body. “Say yes.”
“Will you tell me more about you?”
“Anything you want to know, baby. By the time you walk out again, I swear to you, you’ll know all my dark and dirty secrets.”
I shudder. “Why does that almost sound like a threat?” I ask him, sobering a little.
“Because my truths are a heavy burden to carry, Demon. You don’t get to take them on lightly.” He pulls back and stares me dead in the eye. My mouth immediately goes dry at his intensity. “Are you man enough to deal with the consequences?”
“Are you trying to scare me off?” I ask, attempting to do so lightly but failing massively.
“No, I’m just giving you what you’re asking for. Truth and honesty. I’m not going to stand here and tell you that wanting to be a part of my life is going to be easy. It’s not. It’s dirty, ugly, and at times downright terrifying. But it all seems that much easier when I know I’ve got you.”
“Toby,” I sigh, completely falling under his spell but knowing that it’s dangerous. More than dangerous. But can I walk away from him even knowing this? “Take me to your place.”
His lips twitch, but a smile doesn’t break free.
“You’re sure? Because I need to warn you, I’m not going to let you go after this.”
I smile, hoping to drag his own out of him.
“I’m a big girl. I think I can cope.”
“Careful, Demon. They’re big words when you’ve no idea what you’re willingly stepping into.”
I hold his eyes, ready to say three words that only a few hours ago I never would have believed I would be saying to him. “I trust you. Take me to the dark side.”
Knocking my hand from between us, he crushes his body against mine, his hard length grinding against my belly as he loses control, and hell if he doesn’t drag me right along for the ride.
Some wolf-whistling from a gang of schoolboys who pass us by eventually forces him to let me up for air.
“We should probably go before I fuck you right here for those kids to watch.”
“Y-yeah, probably for the best.” I might be up for an audience in some circumstances, but that seems a little much.
With a groan, he puts some space between us before reaching down to adjust himself. Heat floods me, knowing that I did that. That I turned him on so much his trousers are barely fitting him right now.
“I need to get you home. Now.”
