CHAPTERTWENTY-FIVE
Sebastian
Toby’s words spin around in my head as I make my way down the hall, the sound of everyone’s voices filling my ears.
When I look up, I find everyone looking up at me with concern on their faces.
“How is she?” Theo asks.
I nod, not knowing how to answer that question. “She’ll be okay. We can keep her safe here.”
“She can stay as long as she needs.” As he says the words, it’s the first time I realise that I kinda forced this on him.
“Shit, I—”
“It’s fine, Seb. It’s not like you can take her to yours.”
I mutter my agreement.
“Other than the hotel, this is the safest place for her. I’ve told Dad she’s here. He’s putting guys outside, just in case.”
I nod, appreciating that the boss is on our side with this.
Pulling the fridge open, I grab an armful of beers, I pass one to Daemon, who’s sitting at the island on his phone, before lowering them to the coffee table everyone is sitting around and falling down into the empty chair.
“I can’t believe Galen allowed that motherfucker into their house,” Alex mutters.
“Stella thought it was all me. They had no idea anything was going on until she was stabbed.”
“Fuck,” Alex says, scrubbing a hand over his face.
“Yeah, well, if you were less of a dick,” Calli scoffs.
“Shouldn’t you be at home, Baby C?”
“Fuck you, Seb.”
“I don’t like this,” Nico complains, side-eyeing his sister.
“Stella wants me here and you know it. Try and get rid of me and she’ll threaten your manhood again.”
He shifts, covering his junk.
“You’re fucking brave, letting her anywhere near yours,” he tells me with a wink. “Bitch is fucking dangerous.”
“I know. It’s hot.” I tug at my jeans, rearranging myself much to Theo and Alex’s amusement. All Calli does is roll her eyes at me. “You can leave any time you like, Baby C. I’m sure Nico would love to escort you home.”
Her lips twitch into a scowl and a quiet growl rumbles up her throat.
“Ah look, we’ll make her into one of us yet.”
“Her shot’s not bad, you know,” Daemon pipes up from behind us.
“No,” Nico snaps. “My kid sister isn’t getting involved in this shit.”
“Excuse me,” Calli snaps, rearing back. “Your kid sister will do as she damn well pleases.”
I can’t help the pride that swells in my chest as I watch the siblings glare at each other.
