"You'llalwayshave Joaquin with you at the very least," he said, nodding his head toward where the majority of Rafael's men had chosen to stay in the larger cabin at the front of the plane. The one in the back was more private, separated from what Rafe informed me was a small bedroom at the back by only a door. "But I still want a way to reach you. It is always to be charged, and you're to answer the phone any time I call you." My mouth dropped open in outrage, prepared to argue the point, but his face tensed in that way that I knew I would achieve nothing by making demands of my own.

Even if his were unreasonable.

"I can'talwaysanswer the phone," I said, softening my tone from the angry rage I wanted to throw in his face. "It isn't like you will."

"Mi reina,I would never ignore your call unless it were life and death. I do not plan on being involved in any of those scenarios while we are in Chicago, so it should be a moot point. I promise I will be as available to you as you must be to me," he said, raising a brow at me as if he dared me to try to contradict him.

"Fine," I groaned, setting the phone on the table. As much as I wanted to play with it and set it up to my exact specifications, I'd never even seen the brand Rafael used until him.

I wanted to experiment with it in private and not with his amused stare looking over my shoulder and judging how slow I was to learn the new device.

Dropping my forehead to his, I smiled down at him even as I wrinkled my nose. "Thank you for trusting me with it."

"Mi reina,I trust you with my life," he said. "What is a phone compared to that?"
