“I’m sorry,” I said honestly.
“It’s fine,” he assured me. “Let me walk you to your car at least.”
“That would nice.” I let him pull out my chair and we walked out together toward the parking lot at the back of the restaurant.
We were about halfway down the alley when he lunged at me, pinning me to the brick wall and trying to kiss me. I shoved hard against his chest, but he was larger than me, and I couldn’t get leverage.
Finally, I brought my knee up into his groin.
He doubled over in pain and I wrenched myself away from him, running back down toward the crowded street.
I ran straight into a hulking body, bouncing backward and looking up into Cyrus’ very angry eyes.
Mark had recovered and started to run after me.
Cyrus pushed me aside and before Mark could turn and run, Cyrus clocked him square in the jaw, knocking Mark on his ass…out cold.
