Olivia gave her a soft laugh.

Mom peeked over my shoulder as I drew. “Are you going to include any of your trip drawings in your portfolio to show the dean of admissions? What was her name again?”

“Dean Collins. Leslie. How should I address her, you think?”

“Dean Collins is good.”

“I figured. But, no, I don’t think I’ll add any new drawings. Two weeks is not nearly enough time to obsess over them. I’ve done months of obsessing over the others. It wouldn’t be fair to the new drawings.”

“Or the old drawings for that matter,” Mom joked back.

“True,” I said. The drawings were just one part of the résumé I’d prepared for my interview, but since animation was what I wanted my focus to be, I felt like they were the most important part.

“Did you end up going with the girl gamer angle you were thinking about for your portfolio?”

“Yes, all the game ideas I included feature girls.”

“I hope she’s the girl power type.”

“She’s a woman in gaming,” I said. “She is.” At least that’s what I had bet my entire sketchbook on.
