CHAPTER3
Regina sat nextto me during dinner, which was nice of her-not that I would admit it-but it was kind of sweet that she took the time to sit and talk to me. Even if it was like talking to a brick wall for her sometimes.
I listened as Regina spoke so passionately about her dreams of becoming an author and how much she loved reading and writing.
The corners of my lips lifted slightly; she was actually quite nice. Not that I would tell her that.
Standing outside my room, she stilled too.
“I hope you didn’t mind me crashing with you at dinner…” her tone a little quieter now.
“Of course not, I’m happy to have you here with me. I’m just a bit of a loner, that’s all.” I admitted, tucking a strand of blonde hair behind my ear.
“Me too, I haven’t made many friends… I tried, but you have the royalty of the school shall we say…” I couldn’t help but notice how her voice dropped considerably lower as she finished the last part of her sentence.
“The group from English lit?” I furrowed my brow.
She nodded.
“The main, mean girl… their leader sleeps three doors down from your room…” she turned to look over her shoulder, my eyes followed hers.
“Have they done something to you before?” I asked as I continued staring down the hall.
She shook her head. “Not exactly, maybe a little threat here and there. I just keep myself to myself, well… until you.” She laughed softly.
I was no coward, yes, okay, I kept myself to myself, but I would never let some snobby little girl cause me or my friend grief while we were in this hell hole of a school.”
“Well, if she ever does it again, you tell me.” I smiled, wrapping my arm around Regina’s shoulders and pulling her close.
Regina smiled at me before she stepped back. “Anyway, thanks again… see you tomorrow?” she asked as her hopeful eyes danced with mine.
I nodded.
“I’ll meet you here at seven, we can walk to breakfast together.”
“Sounds good.” I smiled, opening my bedroom door and stepping inside.
“Night, Ivy,” Regina turned and began to walk away.
“Night, Regina.” I called out, closing the door behind me and losing myself in a book for the evening.
As promised,Regina was at my door at seven a.m. the next day, and every other day after that. I was glad it was Friday, not that it mattered as we had school tomorrow which I still think is a fucking crime.
Opening the door, Regina smiled, her pretty eyes glistening as she pushed her glasses up her nose.
We walked down the hall, both stilling when the door of the mean girl’s room opened.
I felt Regina’s eyes on me, I turned to face her and gave her a reassuring look. Her throat bobbed as she swallowed hard. I didn’t like that. I didn’t like the fact that Regina was obviously scared of this bitch, whoever she was. To me, she was still a silver spoon fed, privileged kid like the rest of them.
Sure, we had money. But you would never know it. Compared to these pompous princesses and princes, I was a gutter rat.
“Eurgh…” the mean girl’s eyes were on me and Regina. Her disgusted eyes dragged up and down my body before she moved to Regina.
“Aw, look at little geeky Regina getting a new friend…” she turned and smirked as she stepped towards us. Her legs disappeared into her short skirt; she had obviously rolled it up. Her uniform hugged the curves of her body, her shirt pulling at where her round breasts sat. She didn’t look like a teenager, she looked so much older. She was anyone’s walking, sex dream.
She was pretty, sure. She had the body of a goddess, yes. But her fucking personality made her look like an ogre.
Regina whimpered beside me, dropping her head and stepping back. My head quickly turned to look at my submissive friend next to me. I felt a rage course through me as I snapped up to look at the girl in front of me.
