“Here’s the thing, bud,” Joe said. “You’re part of this town and a friend, and with that comes certain protocol. You have to kiss the girls, and we get a hand slap when you see us or when you’re leaving. The chest bounce will come given time and familiarity.”
“You’re sh-kidding me,” he said, looking at Grace.
“Nash wanted to say shit, Daddy.”
“But he kept it inside, Gracie. We should be proud of him for that and take note for next time we want to say something we shouldn’t,” Dylan said.
“You go on and practice kiss and hand slap now,” Joe said. “It’ll get easier for a big GAFG like you over time. I’m not using the H,” Joe said.
Piper raised her face for a kiss, so Nash did as he’d been told, and slapped hands.
“Happy?”
“More than. I may even add that H now,” Joe said.
Nash muttered something unflattering and headed out the door.
