“But everything I am, you hate.”

“Not everything, and I’ll learn to live with it.” He cupped her face with his hand. His eyes holding hers. “Tell me you feel something, Luna. Tell me I’m not alone in this.”

“I love you, Nash.”

His smile reached his eyes. “I’m pleased about that.” He kissed her softly. “Forgive me for being a rude, grumpy bastard?”

Luna snorted.

“We can talk about the rest later, okay?”

“Okay.”

“Promise me you won’t leave Ryker, Luna.”

“I promise.”

Two hours later, Luna and Nash were at his cabin. He’d talked to his parents, telling them he was doing fine, and he would bring Luna out to meet them tomorrow. Chief Blake had just left after questioning both Nash and Luna. Nash had then told both he and Luna that Kirsty had sent that picture to her. She’d forgiven her because she knew how easy Nash was to love. He was still a long way from that.

“Good that he’s getting onto the police in Chicago about Nicks’s sister. I’m sorry she let you down, Luna.”

“I liked her, so did Hugo. And I’m sorry about Kirsty.”

“I didn’t know she had that kind of nasty inside her.”

“She wants you, I can understand why she did what she did.”

“Because I’m such a hot package?” he drawled.

She laughed. They were sitting outside. The air was cool and fresh and the sun about to sink beneath the mountains.

“Do you need anything, Nash?”

“Nothing. I just want to sit here with you.” He held out his hand and she took it.

He leaned in to kiss her.

“If your happiness is in Chicago, Luna, then that’s where we’ll base ourselves,” he said. The surprise had her sitting upright to look at him.

“Nash—”

“Don’t try to change my mind. Your business is there, and I work for my family. I can relocate; you can’t. I’m not living without you.”

“Nash—”

“I can work anywhere.”

“Will you shut up,” she said. “I don’t think there are many ranches in downtown Chicago.”

“I’m explaining that I understand your life is there.”

His hair was a mess, and he wore a shirt around his shoulders, and sweats. Looking at him made her heart sigh.

“I don’t want to live there. I want to live here. I want to buy the florist and run my business from here. Move with L.K. is online based, so I can record and blog from Ryker. Hugo will run the other stuff from Chicago.”

Now it was his turn to sit up. “I… really?”
