CHAPTER17
Cassie
One month later
“Come here,” Alexander beckoned, using his index finger to try to draw me out of my seat.
“The pilot hasn’t told us we can move freely about the cabin,” I said as I threw him a look.
Daniel laughed as he looked at me. “Nice try. We’ve been in the air for hours. I think the little bird needs a lesson in obedience.”
“Yes, she does,” Brogan added.
“That’s not fair. I’ve done everything you asked,” I purred, as if that was going to do any good. The three men had staked their claim after Rocco’s attack, refusing to let me go. While I’d been given a full month to get my affairs in order, when I’d requested a few more days, they’d told me in no uncertain terms my time was up. They’d even chartered a flight to ensure I arrived in New York on time.
Of course, I hadn’t been alone to handle quitting my job and selling most of my things. I’d had one of Alexander’s soldiers close by at all times. All three men had feared some retaliation after Rocco’s death.
I continued to think about that horrible day, but this was a new beginning, although they hadn’t provided a single detail about what that meant. Now I was on a plane bound for a mysterious location, although I suspected we were returning to the island where it had all begun. I felt confident of my thought process given the ridiculous but colorful tropical shirts they were wearing. I was still shocked to see Alexander in particular in an orange Hawaiian shirt.
Our strange love affair.
“Uh-huh. You are a very bad girl, and you know it. Come here.” I could tell Alexander wouldn’t allow me to continue disobeying him.
After unfastening my seatbelt, I sashayed over, taking my time. When I was close, he jerked me into his lap, cupping my face. There was such a difference in his eyes, as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
“You are going to learn that the three of us are in charge,” he said in a husky voice, the deep baritone doing what it had done from day one.
Making me hot and wet all over.
“Maybe.” I leaned into his hand, using my other to tease him, sliding my fingers down his chest as I ground my bottom against his already stiff cock.
Alexander sighed then shook his head. “You’re right, Daniel. She does need a hard lesson.” When he jerked to a standing position, carrying me with him, I yelped, digging my knees into his side.
“What are you doing?” I demanded, as if that was going to do me any good.
“Giving you exactly what you need.” Alexander kept up his grin, even winking at the others as he headed for the small table only a few feet away. He eased me down but immediately turned me in the other direction, pushing me over the edge.
“Hey!” I flailed my arms as he held me, realizing it was no use. Heat rose on my cheeks as he jerked my dress up over my hips, exposing my sexy new lacy red thong.
“Mmm… She does look good in red,” Brogan growled.
“Especially covering her bottom,” Daniel added.
“Don’t you dare! I didn’t do anything wrong.” I tried to shove up from the table, but Alexander promptly pushed me down again.
“Let’s try almost getting yourself killed by digging up evidence,” Alexander huffed as he yanked my panties to the floor, tossing them aside.
“I did what I had to do.” I thought about my father and cringed. While we’d all agreed to allow the evidence to remain just between us, I’d seen a change in the man since he’d left politics. He’d tried to contact me several times, but I wasn’t ready to talk to him. Maybe I’d never be. I still couldn’t forgive him for what he’d done.
“Uh-huh, which is what drew Rocco’s attention to you,” Brogan said from behind me.
“Oh, that,” I huffed, wrinkling my nose. “It was something I had to do.”
Alexander leaned over, slipping the hair from my eyes. “Maybe so, but your days of being a masked assassin and a private investigator are done. Finished. Do you understand?”
“What am I going to do?” I asked coyly.
“I assure you you’ll have plenty of things on the agenda to occupy your time.” Daniel’s tone was different, taunting me just like the others.
