ChapterSix

Ruby

There is a soft knock at the door, and I turn my head quickly, but the disappointment slams into me when Giselle pokes her head around.

“Ruby,” she murmurs, coming in and closing the door.

I wipe my eyes on the sheet and sit up, pulling the vibrator out and throwing it in a rage against the wall.

“Ah!” I yell. “Where is he?”

“Hush,” she says to me, climbing onto the bed with me. “He has gone.”

Those three words cut me deep and my anger dissipates as quickly as it came to be replaced with sorrow again. “Why?” I ask quietly.

“Here,” she says and reaches out to take the nipple clamp off. I gasp and then moan because he is supposed to take care of me now and he isn’t here. He left me. Giselle rubs her palms over my aching peaks, soothing them gently.

I bat her hand away, not interested in her aftercare. “Where. Is. He?” I grit out.

“I don’t know,” she says. “But there are some things I must tell you.”

“Oh? Like what a prick he is?” I spit out.

She shakes her head. “He knows who you are,” she says in a rush. “He has known all along. He knew you came here, and he insisted that I set you up with him.”

“What? That was months ago!” I blurt out.

She lowers her eyes. “I know. I’m sorry for the deception. He was…convincing.”

“He threatened you?” I ask, confused. “Why? Why did he want me?”

“It doesn’t matter, and I don’t know, Ruby. I’m sorry. This is all my fault that you are hurting.”

“Do you know why he left me here?”

Again, she shakes her head. “All I know is that he stormed out, saying he won’t return.”

“What? Never?” I ask in horror. Who will I come to when I need a release? “No,” I say, shaking my head in denial. “No. He wouldn’t do that.”

Giselle is silent.

“You have no idea why he wanted me?”

“No, child. I wasn’t in a position to ask, only to do as he said.”

“How did he even know when I’d show up?” I ask, really expecting an answer, but she doesn’t have one to give me. “Damn him. What is his name? Who is he?”

“All I know is that he is a powerful man, and he is not used to being denied. Tread carefully, Ruby. This warning is all I can give you now.”

“Fuck you,” I spit out, turning my rage and frustration onto the club owner. “How dare you deceive me like this! You were my friend.” I grab the crop and leap off the bed, reaching for the discarded vibrator from the floor. I march over to the sideboard and yank open the bottom drawer. I pull out the cleaning wipes and set about wiping my cum from the instruments furiously.

“Ruby, please, do not be angry with me…”

“Shut your mouth,” I growl, chucking the items into the drawer. These are mine. No one else will use them, not even me anymore. “I’m done with you and this place.”

“Ruby, no,” she says sadly.

“You have betrayed me, and you know what fucking happens to people who betray me?” I ask, stalking back over to the bed to snatch up my two knives. I make a slashing motion with my new Pangolin across my neck, and she pales. “Watch your fucking back, Giselle because you have just made a powerful enemy.”
