“You forget.” She slipped the ring onto her finger and looked into his eyes. “I’ve known you for half my life.”

“The Danny Brooks version of me.”

“There is a lot of you in Danny Brooks, Isaac Dunn. Max was the one phoning it in.”

“I heard that,” Max growled from behind them, but his beard was smiling. Isaac could tell his older brother was proud of him. Max’s approval wasn’t necessary, but it felt damn good.

“She’s marrying me,” Isaac announced.

“Yay!” Kendall whooped.

“If...” Meghan said.

“If anything,” Isaac said, meaning it. “I’ll move to Dunn. I’ll shave my head. I’ll take a job in accounting.”

“If you call Charles Howard right now,” she said, “and tell him you made a colossal blunder and then beg him to offer you the role.”

“Done.” Isaac reached for his cell phone.

“I’ll take care of that.” Kendall plucked the phone out of his hand. “You two have some celebrating to do.”

“Sounds good to me.” Isaac buried his nose in Meghan’s hair and held on as tight as he dared.

As if she knew he needed reminding, she whispered into his ear, “I love you, Isaac Dunn. I’ve been in love with you since forever.”

He couldn’t claim the same, but he refused to be outdone. “I love you, Meghan Squire. I’ll spend the rest of forever proving to you how much.”

When he dove in for another kiss, he learned their hiding place hadn’t been much of one. Whistles and applause lifted on the air around them from cast and crew alike.

“Was that a yes?” Richard, his hands cupped around his mouth, asked.

Isaac looked to Meghan, her crooked smile sending his stomach into cartwheels. “Well, answer the man.”

She turned toward the crowd, raised her ring hand and shouted, “That was a yes. Again!”
