With summer here, maybe…
“I love it,” Jasper said. “You should come to a lodge with me for a week if you like traveling. I have one in Quebec.”
Quebec. I hadn’t been to Quebec yet.
“I love traveling,” I said. “I usually take a trip each summer to break away from work and to just…See something new. I’m not into hunting, but if there are places to hike then sure.”
Jasper nodded, leaning forward. “How do you feel about being hunted?”
“Hunted?” I whispered, entranced by him.
“Mmhmm,” he hummed. The easiness about him drew me in, luring me a bit closer. “I think you might enjoy what happens if you’re caught.”
“Maybe,” I whispered. “When?”
“Two weeks,” Jasper said. “It’ll give me time to convince you that you belong with me.”
“I can do two weeks from now,” I whispered.
I didn’t care what I’d have to do, I’d find a way to take the week off.
“I already waited two weeks for this date. What’s another two weeks when it means I’ll get to have you all to myself?”
“Maybe we can go on a couple more dates before then,” I said, swallowing hard.
“Of course. As if I could stay away from you now.”
I leaned back in my seat, warmth flooding me.
Regardless of whether this was really forever, it would be an interesting few weeks.
