I drop my armor. I don’t need it. Not with this man. I ran to him two years ago, and now, I’m through running. For the first time since returning to Pike’s End, I’m truly… home.
Turning my face into his palm, I press my lips to his skin.
“I love you, Asa,” I murmur against his hand. “Say it again.”
“I love you, baby girl.” He tilts my head back so I’m looking into his pretty gray eyes, and if I harbored any doubts, one glance there melts any lingering uncertainties. This beautiful male loves me. Chooses me. “Your turn.” He presses his lips to mine. “Say it again.”
“I love you.” I smile. “Now, I believe there was mention of dinner and a movie night.”
He snorts. “She better be glad I would do anything to get you home with me. Including being played.”
I laugh, and bending his head, he claims both my kiss and my laughter.
Home. I’m going home with him and Rose. Right where I belong. I might have started this journey two years ago as Jessie’s girl, but now I’m all his.
All Asa’s.
And he’s mine.
