“Lace,” she hisses out, unhappy with my delayed response.
“Too tired to even order pizza right now, hun.” That is all I can give her. It says a lot. Everything in fact, in such simple terms.

“Tell Kio I said he better treat you right.”
“He heard.”
“I figured. One more thing?”

“I am so done with today. Can you send a group message to all the girls reminding them to be at the saloon by seven in the morning for the charity event meeting for me? If you can pick up the uniforms from The Spot on your way in, that would be great, too.”
“Yeah, I can take care of all that.”
