Found himself lost in her eyes.
Unable to look away, Devyn kept moving, watching her while she gazed up at him as she reached back up and caressed his jaw, her expression softening as she leaned up and took his mouth in a kiss that sent him over the edge as he felt her walls tightening around him seconds before she moaned his name.
For several minutes, he lay there, struggling to catch his breath as he held the woman that was quickly becoming the most important thing in the world to him before he forced himself to finally release her. “I have to go,” Devyn said, kissing her forehead.
“It’s too cold,” Andi mumbled sleepily as she rolled onto her side and watched him as he reached down and picked the comforter off the floor and laid it over her, tucking her in before pulling his pants back up and saw just how wrinkled his suit was.
Shit!
Knowing that he didn’t have a choice, at least not until he was able to send his suit out to be pressed, Devyn grabbed his phone and after one last look at the small woman who was already fast asleep, he quietly made his way into the other room and called The Charlton Hotel’s manager’s direct line.
“Mr. Mathews’ office. How can I help you?”
“Please tell Mr. Mathews that Devyn MacGregor is calling. We had a meeting yesterday that I need to reschedule for today,” Devyn said absently as he pulled his tie loose and tossed it aside.
“I’m sorry, Mr. MacGregor, but that’s impossible. Mr. Mathews has been out of the country for the past week,”came the softly murmured words that had him going still.
“And the audit?” Devyn asked, swallowing hard as his gaze found Andi, asleep in the other room and-
“I believe that was finished a little over two weeks ago and sent to Mr. Jamerson,”came the answer that gave him the wake-up call that he needed.
