I sigh. “It’s just a stand still. I’ve got my list of things to do, but until I know the venue, not much I can do. And if it takes too long, she will probably be upset with me even though it’s not my fault. And because I’m a nice guy, I’d just take it.”

“Tessa has expressed her dream for a perfect marriage, and unfortunately it doesn’t exist. People fight, have differences, but the main importance behind these is that their partners accept them for who they are, and don’t harp on them.”

“Is she having doubts about my brother?”

“Oh no, nothing like that. She is scared. Not of him, but of messing things up. Hell, she even has called your brother her Prince Charming on at least five occasions.”

Tessa and my brother are made for each other, whether they have differences or not, I know they will be together for the rest of their lives.

“Come on, babe. I’ve got to get home, and grade some quizzes before school tomorrow. It’s already ten,” Harper says, standing up from the table, staring at the check.

I slip cash into the black booklet, and walk her to my truck.

The ride to her house is mostly filled with silence. If we didn’t just have a great night full of conversation then I would be nervous, but she assured me that we are doing great, and nothing is wrong.

As I pull up to her house, she takes her seatbelt off, leans her body over, and kisses me.

“Just so you know, I’ll be thinking about you. Are you sure you don’t want to come in for some wine and watch me grade?”

I open my mouth to answer, but she beats me.

“Just kidding. It’s not fun, plus I’ll have True Blood on in the background and I know how you despise it. See you tomorrow.”

The door shuts behind her, and I watch her walk up the driveway, unlock the door and slip inside before I take off.

Is Harper the girl I’ve been waiting my whole life for? Can I be her Prince Charming?
