The euphoria of an orgasm is like seeing stars on the ceiling. I still wonder why he didn’t give me what I wanted. He deserves to receive pleasure, and especially after what I just experienced. It’s nice to have someone who didn’t just think of themselves for once. There have been men who were only worried about their release in the past, and Damon is definitely not one of those guys.

I sit up, a hand on my forehead. “I can’t believe I just did that with her in the next room. What if she heard me?”

He laughs, looking at his watch. “I’m sure if she did, there would be a knock at the door, but it’s time to get her up.”

We both get off the bed, and he hands me my nightgown.

“I’ll go get Emily up. She’ll be excited to see you.”

Walking out of the bedroom, I’m happy. It’s like an instant light, and I can see how happy we can be. We could have this amazing, joyous feeling around all the time.

I nudge Emily. “It’s time to get up, sweetie. Someone’s here to see you and brought breakfast.”

Her eyes fly open, and she is off the bed in a jiff.

“Damon. You’re here,” Emily says, running to him. “I missed you.”

He looks at me. “I missed you too. But I’m not going anywhere.”

This changes things, but for the better. He finally decided, and he chose us. Sure, there is always a chance it might not work, but if you go into every relationship thinking that way, then how will it ever succeed?

We share a bond I haven’t felt with anyone before. And it isn’t just sexual. His heart is enormous. That is what I like so much about him, his sense of caring for others, and not only himself.

Then, of course, his immediate bond with Emily. She never takes to strangers like she did with him. They are best friends from the first hug, and that just overwhelms my heart.

At first, I questioned my decision about moving into his place, but if I would have declined his offer, and we stayed at the shelter, I never would have gotten to know this wonderful man. Emily would have never experienced the incredible bond.

She sits eating her blueberry glazed donut with Damon, while I get ready for work, slipping on a pencil skirt with a blue blouse. That’ll do.

“All right, it’s time to head to school,” I say, heels in hand. “Never been late, and never will be.”

“I’m off. Can I give you a ride?” he asks insistently.

I nod. It is better than walking barefoot until I get to work. There is no way I’m walking the entire way in heels.

After dropping Emily off, I want to talk about this morning.

I bite my lip, thinking about this morning, and his hand brushes against my thigh.

“Whatcha thinking about over there?” he asks, smiling.

I don’t reply. Honestly, all I want is to pull over and screw him in this car right here and now.

“I've been thinking since you drove her to school, and I don’t have to walk to work, we have twenty minutes to kill.” My eyes still focus on his hand.

“Oh, really.” Damon licks his lips. He didn’t revert to his route. “I think that’s not enough time for what I’d like to do next.”

Shudders run through my body. I pout a bit, but get over it when we pull into my office’s parking lot.

“Thanks for the ride, stud,” I say, bent over into the rolled down window.

“I’ll be here at three to pick you up. Don’t have too much fun working today.” He winks and drives off, leaving me wishing I had the day off too.

Why am I acting like a schoolgirl instead of a grown-ass woman? Is this normal?

“Good morning,” Harper says. “The principal would like to see you.”

I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him yet. He’s been out on vacation. I put my bag down underneath the desk and head to his office.
