Her only thought was to find a place to hide before she broke down. She couldn’t allow herself to show any weakness to the people around her. It didn’t escape her notice that Kane wasn’t there, but she tried to put it out of her mind, or it would push her over.
She shoved people out of the way and dodged the hands that tried to grab her. Outside the garage, she turned one way, stuck her hands in her pockets, ducked her head, and walked off.
Sienna just kept moving. She didn’t know where she was going or even where she was at that moment, but she didn’t care. The sight of Nia tied and gagged wouldn’t leave her head. She couldn’t stop it. She would forever see the fear on that sweet woman’s face because of what she’d done. The thought of what could have happened to her if Hector had brought Nia along made her so nauseous that she had to fight to keep it down or spew it all over the sidewalk.
Kane’s face kept popping up in her mind, and she had to struggle to push him out, but she needed to because that was all it took for her to start shaking.
As much as she needed him, she was glad that he was giving her space. Or at least that was what she tried to tell herself.
At that point, she’d do anything to keep it together. Give her some time, and she’d get her strength back. She always had in the past.
