I sat back against the cushions and opened my legs, placing a foot on each side of the device.

“Beautiful,” he growled with approval. “Now put a finger inside you. Show me how far you can take me.”

I slipped a finger in, stroking myself from the inside. It was a poor substitute to Xavran’s girth. I moved it in circles, stretching myself.

“Perfect, just like that...” He leaned back in his chair, sliding his hand up and down his length, his stare buried between my legs.

I slipped a second finger in, then circled the swollen bud of my clit, both fingers slick and slippery with my arousal.

“Oh, Xavran, this feels so good,” I moaned, lying back into the pile of pillows.

“Rub it harder now,” he rasped. “I want you to come with me.”

He was so right. I needed more.

I pressed harder, rubbing faster. My eyelids fluttered closed as pleasure ebbed and swelled through my body.

Xavran’s ragged breathing synced with mine as he pumped his hand harder too.

Orgasm teased me. So close.

“Come for me.” Xavran’s deep half-whisper served as a trigger.

I gasped as an orgasm erupted through me.

His growls grew into a roar.

Intense pleasure rolled through me, and I let it take me.

My body trembled. I rolled to the side, pressing my legs together. If his words and stare did this to me, I could only imagine what his touch could do.

“I wish you were here.” I voiced my heart’s deepest desire out loud.

I felt apprehensive about seeing his reaction when I opened my eyes.

He had cleaned and tucked himself back in. But his coveralls remained open, exposing his chest and abs.

“You have no idea how much I wish to be there to hold you right now,” he said. Longing shone in his eyes, making me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

“Come back soon,” I pleaded.

He groaned with frustration. “I can’t wait that long. I can’t wait until my shift is over.”

“Just another week.”

He shook his head. “It’s too long.” Leaning forward, he placed his elbows on his knees. “Why don’t you come here, instead?”

I sat up, fixing my bra. “Is that allowed?”

“Family visits are within the rules.”

“But I’m not your family, not even on paper.”

“I’ll make an exception for you.” He grinned. “I’m the captain. I can do that.”

I arranged my skirt around my legs, taking a moment to think.

“But who will stay with the children?” Mara was useless for that. I couldn’t even go shopping to Arqa on the weekend as I’d planned because I didn’t feel comfortable leaving her with the kids even for a few hours. Instead, I’d made a quick trip to the city during the week while the kids were in school, just to buy myself some more comfortable clothes.

“Bring them with you,” he said. “The last time they were on a crozan, they were too small to remember much.”

“But what about their school?”

“You can come in a few days, after school is done for the week. Stay here for the weekend, then all of us could go home together.”

That way, I’d get to see him only four days from now, instead of seven.

Oh, it was so tempting.

“I—”

“Susanna!!!!” My name in English suddenly bounced across the hologram screen, followed by an obscene number of exclamation signs.

“Where the fuck are you?????” An even greater number of question marks.

“Mara!” Of course, who else could it be? “I’d better go.”

I grabbed the device from the bed.

“Say ‘I’ll see you soon,’” he insisted.

“I’ll see you soon,” I repeated with a smile.

His expression brightened. “I’ll make all the necessary arrangements for your trip.”

“Okay.” My smile grew wider. I would’ve given anything to be able to kiss him right now. “Thank you.”

We got disconnected. Xavran’s image dispersed into the air, leaving Mara’s words pulsing on the screen of the device.

I glanced at them with concern. This could be an emergency. However, knowing my sister, the emergency could be something as trivial as her misplacing a shoe.

I hit the button on the control panel to get rid of the protective shield over my bed.

Mara burst into my room without knocking.

I barely managed to scramble out of bed to face her.

“You’re home?”

“Duh.” She spread her arms. “The question is, where the hell were you? Shouldn’t you be in the kitchen at this hour or something?”

I rubbed my neck. “What happened? What do you need me for?”

“Here.” She shoved her device my way. “The school principal is calling me.”

“Why?” I took it from her, placing mine under my arm.

“How am I supposed to know?”

“Pick it up and ask?”
