I wokewith the sun streaming through the window, panic setting in when I realized Raven was no longer in bed. Chase sat up on his side of the bed, looking over at me.
“Fuck. Did she leave?”
“I hope not. I thought we’d gotten past the running,” I said, an empty ache settling inside me.
“I’ll give her a call. Maybe she had to leave earlier for work than we thought.”
“No, she didn’t,” Raven said, smiling as she walked in with a tray overflowing with food, “Besides, my car is at home.”
“I totally forgot. I guess we’re dropping you off at work then. You didn’t have to cook for us, little bird.”
“I know I didn’t. I wanted to. I would have made coffee, but I couldn’t figure out how to use your fancy ass coffee maker.”
Chase hopped out of bed, gave her a peck on the lips and headed to the kitchen calling, “I’m on it! Back in two minutes, don’t eat all the food!”
She stuck out her tongue at him and I chuckled, taking the tray from Raven so she could climb back into bed.
“Holy shit, this is a lot of food!”
Her cheeks pinked and she shrugged, a sheepish expression on her face.
“You guys don’t exactly eat small portions, and I’m starving. I promise you, we won’t have leftovers.”
As promised, Chase was back in a couple minutes, balancing three mugs of steaming coffee in his hands.
“Well, we definitely won’t starve,” he smirked, looking at the mounds of food.
“Keep it up with the comments, guys, and you two just might,” she deadpanned.
We each dropped a kiss on her cheeks and grinned at her.
“Yes, ma’am,” we said in unison.
“Are you two working today?”
“Not until a little later this morning. We have to meet with a prospective supplier. How about you? When do we have to leave to get you to work?”
“We have about a half hour.”
I chuckled when I caught sight of Chase’s pout.
“Chase, I’m sure she’ll come back again. You’ll survive without morning sex.”
“Oh, the horror,” Raven said, rolling her eyes.
We finished breakfast and got dressed, piling into the car to take her to work. We pulled up to her building and I leaned over the seat to kiss her goodbye.
“Will you come back over tonight?” I asked.
“I’ve love to, but maybe we could stop off after work to get my car. That way, I can pack some other clothes and drive myself to and from work.”
Chase opened her door, pulled her out, and kissed her soundly.
“Of course. We’ll see you after work, Raven,” he said, kissing her once more.
He moved into the passenger seat and we watched until she walked into the building.
“Seb, are you concerned about that asshat Andrew bothering her at work?”
“I don’t think he’ll cause any trouble at work, and we’ll be here waiting at the end of the day. She’ll be fine.”
“I’m sure you’re right. Why don’t we just head straight to the club. We can get some shit done before the meeting.”
I nodded my assent and we made our way there.
