“Andrew happened.”
“Andrew? That anal-retentive asshole you work with?”
“That would be the one.”
“What does he have to do with it?”
I proceeded to fill her in on my two visits with him. By the time I’d finished telling her about his reaction, she was livid. In a competition between my best friend and my men, I wasn’t sure who would maim Andrew the worst.
“Who the fuck is he to judge you on anything? Raven, he sounds dangerous.”
“Speaking of which, there’s a little more to it.”
Her eyes narrowed, her hands curled into fists, and her jaw tensed. “It got worse than him throwing a hissy fit?”
“A lot worse. I think he might be obsessed with me. Apparently, he threatened Brian and his family. That’s why he broke things off so abruptly. I was terrified when he left, so I messaged Sebastian. They were at my house in under fifteen minutes. They had me pack a bag and I’ve been staying at their place since Friday.”
“I’m sorry you didn’t think you could call me,” she said sadly.
“I actually did try calling you, before I even called Andrew, but you didn’t answer.”
“In other words, this all could have been avoided?”
“No, I think Andrew has been working very hard to insert himself in my life and this would have happened one way or another. No worries, this isn’t on you. I must have done something along the way to make him think I’d be interested in any sort of relationship with him.”
“I doubt that. Let’s stop talking about shitty things. Tell me about those boys of yours,” she said, eyes twinkling with excitement.
I cried out, eyes wide as the vibrator started fucking vibrating. I slapped my hand over my mouth to hold in the moan that followed.
“Raven, are you alright?” Leah asked, voice laced with concern.
“I’m fine,” I said, breathing a sigh of relief when it stopped buzzing.
Fucking thing must be defective.
“If you say so. Tell me about the boys!”
My cheeks grew hot and I knew that she was going to know exactly what I’d been up to. I took a deep breath and decided, of anyone, she would be behind this 100%.
“So, first of all, did you know…”
Buzz.
“…that they own the club?”
Buzz.
“What?? No, I didn’t know that. I can’t believe Jason didn’t tell me that. Also, don’t think for a minute I don’t know you’re stalling. Spill.”
Buzz, buzz.
“Fuck,” I hissed.
“Seriously, Raven, what’s going on right now?”
“I need a minute,” I ground out, pulling my phone out and starting a group chat.
Raven: Seriously?
Chase: Is everything okay?
Sebastian:Shouldn’t you be visiting with Leah?
I could practically see the mock innocence dripping from their faces. I yelped as a steady buzz, buzz, buzz, started up.
Raven: I’m trying to, but I think there’s something wrong with this thing.
Sebastian: Oh, you mean the vibrator?
BUZZ, BUZZ, BUZZ.
Raven: Oh my god!! Is this one of the phone app vibrators??
Chase: You didn’t think we were going to have you wear it for no reason, did you?
Raven:Well, stop it! Half the bloody restaurant, Leah included, thinks I’ve lost my damn mind!
BUZZ.
Sebastian: Okay, we’re done, I promise.
Chase:See you when you get home!
Raven:You boys think you’re so funny, but you’d best sleep with one eye open.
I tucked my phone back into my purse, shrugging apologetically at Leah.
“Do I want to know?”
“Nope. Anyway, they’re looking for a monogamous relationship, not simply someone to play with at the club.”
I cringed when she let out another squeal.
“Leah!”
“I’m sorry, but how awesome is that? I thought you might let loose a little when we went there, but not even I could have predicted you’d end up in a ménage relationship! Wait. You said yes, right?”
“I actually told them at first that I had to think about it. I’ve since decided that I absolutely want this.”
“Have you slept with them?” she asked eagerly.
I rolled my eyes at her. There was no way she would let me leave here without telling her everything that had happened. I had a shit poker face, too, so she would know right away if I tried to bullshit her.
“No, I think maybe they’re afraid of pushing me too far, too fast. We’ve done other things, though, and no, I’m not going into details. We’ve done a little play, too.”
“I bet they’re hot in bed. Are they…?” she asked, motioning size with her hands.
“Leah!” I hissed, my face flaming, “I’m not telling you that!”
“You just did,” she smirked, “What about the play? Have you enjoyed that?”
I resigned myself to the fact my cheeks were going to be a permanent shade of red.
“I have. We haven’t done a lot of things. Again, they want to introduce me to things slowly. I’m a little worried, though. They have years with experience with this lifestyle, but I’m shiny new. What if they get bored and take off?”
“Sweetheart, you’ve known them for just over a week and, already, they’ve rescued you from a lunatic, and Chase was looking at you like you like you hung the moon when he dropped you off. I’d wager that Sebastian would have been wearing the same expression if he’d been here. Those boys aren’t going anywhere.”
“I hope you’re right.”
“Just talk to them, Raven. The last thing you want is to be keeping secrets. You need to communicate with them.”
“You’re right. Okay, your turn. Tell me about Jason,” I said, changing the subject.
I spent the next half hour listening to her gush about him. I was thrilled to see her so happy. She wasn’t really the relationship type, but she seemed to have found someone who was a good fit. She dropped me back at the boys' house, waving as she drove away. Seb was standing with the door opened before I even got to the pathway.
“Miss me?” I giggled.
