Dane ran his hand along my arm.
“Well, you’ve already been with our Alpha. I was worried we wouldn’t be able to compete.”
I smiled, hope filling me up like a waterfall into a tiny spring.
“And I assumed no man would ever want me. And that you three would have to… endure me for the sake of the baby.”
Dane’s hand slid down to cup my belly. My breath caught in my throat at the tender caress. It was the first time another person had recognised my pregnancy in a positive way.
He didn’t say anything, but I knew he wanted to talk about the pregnancy as well. How did the other two feel about me having the Alpha’s baby?
“Is it… I mean… Are you guys upset that I’m going to have a baby?”
Tayte’s exclamation about my baby being a miracle was a dream come true, but that didn’t mean any of the others felt the same way.
Tayte rubbed my thigh. “You know how we feel.”
I glanced at Sam, who was being ver
y quiet, then back to Dane. “I know Tayte’s okay with it, but what about you two? How does it work? Shall I have a baby with each of you?”
I didn’t mind the idea. I wouldn’t want anyone to feel left out.
Dane swallowed “We’d love that… but…”
He glanced at Sam, who finally said, “We want this baby to be ours, too. Not just Tayte’s.”
“Oh.” That sounded amazing. “So, you want to adopt it, or something?”
Tayte chuckled. “We’re a pack, sweetheart. Like Grayson and Dexter’s pack. Claire’s pregnant and they don’t know whose babies they are. They’re the packs’.”
Sam nodded. “We would have liked to be there too, the night this baby was conceived, and next time you get pregnant, we’re going to have to insist, I’m afraid.” He grinned at me and I smiled back. What a beautiful concept.
He continued, “But if you accept us as your mates, then we’ll say this baby is ours.”
I looked down at Dane. “Do you feel that way too?”
He grinned, those sexy dimples coming out to play again. “Of course. I’m not missing out on being called Daddy for another five years while I wait for my turn.”
I looked from one man to the next.
“Are you serious? You all want to be my mate? And you want to be my baby’s daddies? Like… seriously?”
I’d definitely died, because this couldn’t be real.
Not after so many years of being alone, watching other people get married and have babies.
Be happy.
No way could I have found my own version of heaven.
The chuckles around me rose and fell.
“Why are you laughing?”
Tayte turned my face towards his with a tug of my chin. “Because, sweetheart, we’re the ones who feel lucky to have found you. And it sounds like you feel the same way.”
“Of course, I do!” I practically yelled at them. “The bears hated me. I knew it, even as a child. But I was a good worker, and strong for my size. It was the only reason they kept me.”
