Mr. Antonov sits me down on the bathroom counter. It’s not a large space, but luckily I’m small. He grabs a towel, wetting it, and wipes my face gently. “Yes. A million dollars from me, little one,” he answers.
“You killed him?” I ask, tears building as I try to hold my emotions together and fail miserably.
Setting the towel on the sink, he avoids my question. He lifts me off the edge and onto my feet. “You’re clean enough. Let’s go. I can’t leave you here for another minute.” He takes my hand, holding it firmly as if he’s afraid I’ll make a run for it. Running has its merits, but I can’t leave my brother because I know they’ll kill him. Besides, I doubt I’d make it far. Something tells me that I wouldn’t be able to hide from Konstantin Antonov.
“Wait, my bag,” I screech out.
“You don’t need it.”
“I do,” I insist.
“Fine. Take it,” he tells his man. Then he switches to saying something in Russian. I don’t care for that at all. Tomas looks nervous and too bold for his own good. I hope he doesn’t try anything stupid because it wouldn’t end up good at all for either of us.
They lead us outside where there are two waiting vehicles. The guy with him takes my brother to one vehicle while Mr. Antonov leads me to the other. “Wait, why is he going with him?”
“I want you to myself,” he says.
“Please don’t hurt him,” I plead.
“If you behave, no one will touch him.” I look the devil in his gorgeous gray eyes and know that he’s telling me the truth. Something I read in his expression tells me that he’s a man of his word. My gut says my father’s dead, and that’s why he changed the subject and why he didn’t answer me inside the bathroom. He knew I wouldn’t give in if he told me the truth, and yet, here I still am, but what other choice do I have?
“Okay,” I answer with a sigh.
“Don’t sound so upset. I promise it will be so worth your surrender,” he whispers along my ear.
As soon as we’re inside, the tension in the vehicle amps up. “Calm down. I’m not going to fuck you right here. We’ll save that for later. Now, who the fuck was that barreling down that door?”
“You don’t even know who you shot?”
“Not that I give a fuck. He was going to hurt you.”
“You were coming to hurt me.”
“No, I already said I wasn’t going to hurt you. Well, not in a bad way. I came to collect you both. You are both to work for me to pay off your father’s debt.”
“Shouldn’t his life be enough payment?”
“You will learn soon that to question me isn’t wise, little one, but for now, do be quiet. I have a call to make.”
He brings out his cell phone and then continues to speak in Russian. I don’t understand a word of it, and I know that’s intentional. My heart thumps violently against my chest when his hand seeks out my thigh, making small circles over my knee. I don’t move, partly because I’m afraid to piss him off and partly because it feels good. It’s incredibly wrong, but I can’t fight the way my pulse picks up.
Pressing his hand to the phone, he turns to me and whispers, “What is your size?”
“Size?”
“Yes. Clothes? Shoes? The stylist will be over soon, but I must know a rough sizing.”
“A nine?”
“She will figure it out.” He goes on to continue speaking on the phone while his hand slides up my leg. A slight moan pulls from my lips and he freezes, lifts his hand, and ends the call.
“Forgive me,” he grunts out. I squint my eyes, confused because the man has total control over me but he apologized for eliciting a moan from me. Then I see him adjust his cock through his slacks. He leans in and says, “We have much to discuss, but the first thing will be our wedding.”
“Wedding?”
“Yes, Daniella. I find that your father’s debt will be best repaid with your services permanently.”
“I…” I don’t know what to think or say.
“Don’t start to argue. You have a choice—marry me or don’t—but you will not see your brother again if you make the wrong choice.”
“You wouldn’t,” I gasp, clasping my hands to my mouth, staring into his deep gray eyes.
“You know who I am, don’t you, little one?” The sinister smirk on his face amplifies the evil of his words while adding the sensuousness appeal of his lips. How could I be aroused after his threat?
“Yes, Mr. Antonov.”
“Then you know what I am capable of, da?”
“Yes.”
“So what will it be?”
“I will marry you if my brother remains safe.”
“Good.” Weddings take a long time. Maybe I’ll be able to find a way to run with Tomas before we’re married.
