“Yes.” Christine snuggled back against him submissively. “Yes, as long as we’re together, I can take it.”

“That’s good. I love you Chris-teen.”

“I love you, too!” Christine sent back.

Roarn was right—they would be together forever, she was certain. Now that they were bonded, the Monstrum code wouldn’t allow them to be separated so he couldn’t be sent away to the prison planet. They would never be parted—she didn’t know where they would live but she didn’t care. All that mattered was that she was Roarn’s and he was hers and they loved each other.

Only two weeks ago, she had been all alone, an empty nester with nothing to look forward to but a life filled with loneliness. Now she had a brand-new mate—a loving Monstrum who would care for her always.

Her entire life had changed in what seemed like the blink of an eye. And it had all been made possible because she had allowed herself to dare to try…Taming the Tiger.

FORTY-EIGHT

Roarn held the warm, curvy body close to his own and reveled in the new connection he had to the woman he loved. He understood what Christine had done for him—she had risked her life to bring him back from the edge. She had driven away the Fury by opening herself to him when he was at his most savage.

Only a female who loved him completely would do such a thing—dare such dire consequences. He remembered with a shiver the way the Fury had urged him to kill her.

But the dark, destructive force was gone now—purged from his mind forever. And even better, Roarn understood instinctively that it could never come back. Even remembering the events of the past that had brought it on in the first place couldn’t hurt him. What had happened to his brother on the battlefield was tragic, and Roarn would always mourn him, but the terrible memory no longer had the power to rob him of his free will—his personality and reason.

He was sane and whole—completely healed—all because the woman in his arms had been brave enough to tame the beast inside him.

“Oh, Chris-teen,” he sent to her, through their mental link. “Love you so much! Love you forever!”

“I love you too, baby,” she sent back, her mental voice as soft and sweet as her speaking voice was. “And I’m ready to take you—go on and keep bonding me to you. Keep knotting me for as long as you need to.”

Her soft words made his shaft swell inside her. Gods, she was gorgeous! And she was all his, Roarn thought possessively. His beautiful, Mature Elite and he would never let her go.

And then he began to move in her again. As his barbs pierced her honey channel once more, he could feel her body flooding with pleasure. Christine moaned and writhed in his arms, but she didn’t try to get away. Instead, she opened herself to him—acknowledging Roarn as her lover, her new mate. Opened her pussy and let him fuck her as long and as deeply as he needed to.

As Roarn shot his seed in her again, bathing the mouth of her womb with his cream, he knew that it was going to take him hours before he would get enough of her beautiful body—hours before he was finished knotting and bonding her.

But that was all right because Christine loved him and wanted him just as much as he wanted her.

And they would never be parted again.

FORTY-NINE

A week later the Time Lock disengaged and Christine was ready.

She had quite enjoyed the week-long “honeymoon” she and Roarn had had inside the holding cell. They had spent it making love and bonding over and over again, only taking occasional breaks to eat and talk and sleep in each other’s arms.

She had learned so much about her new mate in the time they had been together. Finally Roarn’s memory was whole, and he could tell her about his past. He spoke about his brother’s terrible fate, his golden-green eyes shadowed with sorrow, and Christine had held him in her arms and comforted him, helping him grieve normally for the first time, instead of letting the Fury take him.

She had thought there was no way she could love the big Monstrum more, but it was good to know him completely. The bond between them brought them close, and the talking brought them even closer. And of course, their lovemaking brought them closest of all—it seemed like they couldn’t get enough of each other. They barely stopped, even to eat.

When they did, however, the food was good. There was a dispenser in the far corner of the cell—a silver panel which slid open periodically and deposited a pre-portioned amount of food. Roarn had warned her that it only dispensed raw meat, but it appeared that someone had considerately changed it. Because when they heard the small panel sliding open for the first time and went to investigate it, they found food that both humans and Monstrum would enjoy.
