“I love you, Yvgeny,” she whispered and wrapped her arms around him.

“Zvyozdochka.” He kissed the top of her head. “My little star, I love you, too.”

Nothing would ever compare to what he felt for her or the child that she carried.

“I’m not letting you go, Alexa,” he said, probably for the hundredth time since they’d been together, but he didn’t care. He’d keep telling her until he was blue in the face and had no breath in his lungs. He’d keep reminding her that she was the light to his darkness.

The world meant nothing without Alexa in his life.
