“So what else are you good at?” Shane purred, the innuendo dripping from his tone.
Llew smiled, and Shane didn’t think he’d ever get tired of seeing it. It happened so rarely, and he was secretly pleased that he was the only one who made him do it.
Llew took a deep breath. “Well. I can dissect the hell out of even the most complicated blueprint.”
Shane gripped Llew’s elbow; spinning him to face him, a look of complete shock on his face. “Really.”
Llew nodded. “Yes, really. I’ve studied them since middle school.”
Shane wasn’t sure if he should mention it or not but what the hell. “Even in prison.”
Llew’s eyes darkened but he didn’t turn away. “Especially in prison.”
“How’d you get them?”
Llew smirked. “I had a friend that helped with that.”
“That’s good,” Shane whispered, moving in closer to Llew’s body. His huge chest called to him, made him want to bury his face in between those thick pecs. “Maybe you can help me out if I ever have trouble dissecting some.” Perfect reason to call you into my office. Damn if this wasn’t unprofessional, but fuck it. Shane slowly reached his hand up and ran it through the thick strands of Llew’s dark hair.
“How’s your head?” Llew flinched when Shane’s finger lightly brushed over the knot that had formed where he was clipped by the large piece of falling wood. Llew’s hands were down by his sides, still refusing to touch him. That was okay for now. Baby steps. “I’m sorry that happened to you.”
They stood there staring at each other, the tension building high enough to cause a tsunami. Shane continued to rub the back of Llew’s head, tilting it down so he could see his eyes better. He made sure there wasn’t an ounce of space left between them as he molded himself to Llew’s body. His overly muscular, well-defined body. Llew bowed his head until his forehead ended up touching Shane’s. Warm puffs of breath raised goose bumps all over Shane’s cool skin. Although he was as close to Llew as he could get, there was still two large jackets and a couple layers of clothing keeping him from feeling what he wanted… from feeling flesh. Shane slid his other hand up Llew’s chest and around the back of his neck. He wanted to feel if those firm-looking lips were actually soft. “You can touch me, Llewell.”
It took a few seconds but Llew slowly raised his arms, settling his large hands on Shane’s waist. If he wasn’t so amazingly turned on right now he would’ve been embarrassed at the satisfied groan that left him. Running his hand down Llew’s cheek, ghosting over his eyes, Llew squeezed them shut, his hands simultaneously squeezing his waist.
“Yes,” Shane moaned. It was as if the world had closed in around them. There wasn’t a sound on the dark street. The trees afforded them only a little privacy.
“We shouldn’t be out here like this,” Llew rasped. His voice had gone even deeper and rougher than usual.
“Oh god. Your voice is too much for me to let go.” Shane tightened his grip on Llew’s neck. “You’re gonna have to pull my hands off of you.”
There it was again. That hint of a smile and if Shane’s own face wasn’t as close as it was, he’d probably see that pretty shade of pink on Llew’s cheeks again. Llew reached up, unclasped Shane’s hands from behind his neck, and brought them down in between them. His chin was close to his chest, as if they were praying together. Those goddamn smoky eyes peered at him between silky black lashes as he brought Shane’s hands to his mouth and kissed his knuckles gently. No one had ever kissed his hands before, so sweetly and full of passion. Shane’s knees weakened and his cock throbbed and pulsed against his jeans like a bass drum in a rock band. He was actually fuckin’ swooning. Holy fuck. Llew’s a secret casanova.
Llew turned them. “Let’s go.”
Shit. And he was demanding.
He waited not so patiently behind Llew while he unlocked his door. It was dark and cool when they got inside, but Shane had a feeling it wouldn’t be cool very much longer. The blinds were raised, providing was just enough light from the lamppost outside to illuminate parts of the room. He saw that Llew still didn’t have a lick of furniture. Just a comforter folded up on the floor in the corner and a laptop charging amidst a slew of books. Some novels, but most of them instructional. No. Definitely not stupid. He couldn’t wait to find out just how smart Llew was… but not right now.
“Looks like you read a lot.”
“I don’t sleep very well,” Llew confessed, leaning tall against the far wall. If Shane didn’t know better he’d say Llew was trying to put some distance between them. Not happening. He walked over to where Llew stood and pressed against him. It was time for a little honesty, to show that he could be trusted. He’d put himself out there and hope Llew would do the same.
